Grasim net slides 17% to Rs 275 cr, to pay Rs 6.50 a share

[Details] Grasim Industries, the flagship of the A V Birla group, has recorded a 17.25% drop in net profit to Rs 274.56 crore for the year ended March 1997. However, the dividend has been marginally increased to Rs 6.50 a share against Rs 6.25 paid last year.

Provisional tax assessment details of ITC, HLL sought

[Details] The Public Accounts Committee has sought details of the provisional tax assessment cases against ITC group of companies and Hindustan Lever from the finance ministry. The Committee said as many as 2,157 cases of provisional assessment involving differential duty of Rs 2,079.55 crore was pending finalisation as on December 1996.
