Mutual funds to publish NAVs on daily basis from July

[Details] All open ended equity related schemes of all mutual funds including Unit Trust of India are expected to publish their net asset values on a daily basis from July 1, 1997, according to a decision taken at a meeting of the Securities and Exchange Board of India with the Association of Mutual Funds in India yesterday.

Firms line up to raise short-term debt from banks

[Details] Several corporates and finance companies have initiated plans to raise around Rs 500 crore through short-term debt paper to be placed with the banking sector over the next couple of weeks. This is in addition to some of the state-owned institutional borrowers who are collectively holding on to their plans of raising over Rs 2,500 crore during May.
