Tarapore against deposit cover for NBFCs
Former deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), SS Tarapore, has come out strongly against any move to offer deposit insurance for non-bank players.
SBI to launch 100 housing cells in Goa, Maharashtra
The State Bank of India will start 100 housing cells in Maharashtra and Goa as part of its plans to concentrate on housing finance. The bank has also taken up retail banking as a core banking activity.
