Comp USA appoints Soffia Software as service partner

Mumbai: Comp usa, the largest computer superstore and reseller of personal computer products and services has appointed the Chennai-based Soffia Software to provide its wide range of services to local clients there. Soffia Software chief operating officer CK Taneja told eFe that his company had signed an agreement with the Comp USA in this regard. As per the provisions of this pact, Soffia Software will have access to Comp USA's international clients such as Apple, Compaq, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Lotus, Microsoft, Toshiba. Furthermore, Soffia Software will undertake major projects by developing competitively priced quality software at its centres in the US and India, and offer the same to various international majors.

Taneja said that this strategic relationship would lead to a revenue generation of $2 million in the current fiscal. In addition to this, the alliance will provide a major platform to boost Soffia Software sales in its US operations in both the short and the longer term. Soffia Software which achieved a turnover of Rs 4.54 crore in the last fiscal, expects a rise to Rs 100 crore next year. The company has already been involved in e-commerce solutions, offshore development solutions, e-commerce training, Internet solution for localised retail market and Web enabling application.

The list of its customers include ABN Amro Bank, Gulf Oil, Monsanto, GE Lighting, ICICI and Godrej. It must be mentioned here that the company has already roped in Carnegie Mellon University professor Kannan Srinivasan as an advisor on its board to make forays into high-tech Web-based markets globally. Kannan Srinivasan has been holding talks with the US-based venture funds to chalk out funding arrangements for this purpose.
