BJP has said it would like to know from Sonia Gandhi whether she would retract her comment almost condemning the BJP in the most abusive terms.

New Delhi In wake of former CAG official R P Singh claiming his comments on PAC chairman Murli Manohar Joshi on the 2G issue were misquoted, BJP today asked Congress president Sonia Gandhi to retract her statement in which she had attacked the main Opposition party.

"In light of what R P Singh has stated, the BJP would like to know from Sonia Gandhiji would she retract her comment almost condemning the BJP in the most abusive terms," BJP chief spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad told reporters outside Parliament here.

He said the core issue was rampant corruption in allocation of 2G licences, which were subsequently cancelled by the Supreme Court.

Prasad said it was "deeply regrettable and condemnable" for the Congress president to question the bona fide of BJP, which is the principle Opposition party based on a "motivated comments" of a retired CAG official.

"Yes, certainly I think so," Gandhi had earlier told reporters here when asked whether BJP had been "exposed" by Singh's comments.

Singh had recently said that the Public Accounts Committee had suggested one of the methodologies to CAG to calculate the losses due to 2G spectrum allocation, which were pegged at Rs 1.76 lakh crore in its final report.

Well BJP you condemned her citizenship, her husband and children by raj on 26 Nov 2012

I was amused by the BJP leaders comment and observations. After attacking Sonia Gandhi personally, her citizenship, her children in politics etc , BJP is acting as if it is hurt by a genuine comment seized by Sonia Gandhi to point out thet CAG inflated the figures to attack the government. If that is true then it is attack on India, on its very foundatin of democracy. The Parliament should immediately act on CAG.

Media must not be Neutral and honest by Indian on 26 Nov 2012

The media does not highlight the latest quote from RP singh. Now sonia must apologize to BJP for her utterance.Where is diggy with his large mouth and where is manish tiwari with his wide mouth. All planned by cong leadership to deceive Indians. Unfortunately, media plays for sonia and congress. When RP singh named Joshi the news was running for two days non-stop. Now just few seconds breaking news. After few seconds it was stopped and no channel or news paper journalist went to question sonia. Such is the attitude of Indian media.
