The toll will be charged only for four days as the high court will again hear the case on Wednesday.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday vacated stay over collection of toll tax from private vehicles on the Expressway.
Earlier, a Division bench Beaded by Justice S K Mittal had showed little conviction in the decisions taken by the concessionaire, Delhi Gurgaon Super Connectivity Limited (DGSCL).
“You take decisions 100 times. What immediate steps are you taking tomorrow to bring relief to commuters,” the Bench remarked.
The court had made it clear that if the concessionaire wanted lifting of stay on collection of toll tax it would have to show interim steps which will be taken with immediate effect and not permanent solutions for future.
On September 4, the high court had restrained concessionaire from collecting toll rax from vehicles on the Expressway. However, on September 20 it had lifted stay on charging of toll tax from commercial vehicles.
