Andhra’s non-gazetted officers meet Sudhilkumar Shinde to oppose creation of Telengana

New Delhi Leaders of non-gazetted officer Association of Andhra Pradesh met Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde and expressed opposition against the bifurcation of separate Telangana state.

Talking to the mediapersons on Monday evening, General Secretary of Andhra Pradesh Non Gazetted Officer Association, Ashak Babu, accompanied by other members urged Shinde not to carve out Telangana from Andhra Pradesh state.

“We met the honorable Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde and represented our problems, if the state is divided; the first category to suffer is employees because lakhs of employees are settled in Hyderabad over the last 30 years. They have to be migrate if new state is separated,” said Babu.

He also added that bifurcation of Telangana would cause many problems for the thousands of employees in diverse sectors like pension, seniority and transfers among others.

After an all-party meeting held on December 28, 2012, in New Delhi to find a solution to the long pending demand for Telangana, Shinde had promised a decision within a month.

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) didn’t buy Shinde''s statement and subsequently called for a shutdown.

The chances of an immediate resolution, paving the way for the formation of Telangana appears slim, as most politicians are sharply divided within their own parties on this issue.

The common people''s resentment over the logjam was evident, as they accused politicians of serving their own ends where the issue was concerned.

Meanwhile in the another part of the Hyderabad city, hundred of activists of the Telangana joint action committee (JAC) protested, demanding a bill to be introduced in the parliament for the creation of the Telangana state.

Several errors in this story by Raj on 22 Jan 2013

In the headline, Minister's name should be Sushilkumar (not Sudhilkumar),the proposed state should be Telangana (not Telengana). In the second para, the general secretary's name should be Ashok Babu (not Ashak Babu). The statement 'They have to be migrate if new state is separated' is contextually wrong, as it would have been correct to say if AP or the existing state is separated, not the new state is separated. If the existing state 'AP' is separated, then there will be a new state. And it should be 'to be migrated' not 'to be migrate' as mentioned in the story. 'The common people''s resentment'. Why do we need two apostrophes for people's? These can be corrected if possible...

Bogus Telangana agitation - only to grab Hyderabad by Sanjay on 22 Jan 2013

Telangana movement is a bogus agitation based on jealousy, inferiority complex and greed. Telangana people want to grab Hyderabad a beautiful city built over decades by intelligence, enterprise and investment of Andhra People who generated lot of businesses by their ideas and made Hyderabad a thriving multicultural metropolis. Telangana agitation seeks to grab Hyderabad overnight in the name of seperate state. If they are so emotional about seperate state why should they be particular about Hyderabad. Let them take seperate state without Hyderabad. No they wont accept. This proves Telangana seperatists have no special love for Telangana but are only interested in grabbing Hyderabad without putting any effort in building it and increasing its land value.

NGOs by Dinesh on 22 Jan 2013

These NGOs are the primary cause for the Telangana trouble. You go to Secretariat and all you see is these settlers. Wonder how so may guys could make it inspite of lack of recruitment for so many years. It is all back door entry and they are now scared of being shunted out!

Craetion of Telengana by rao on 22 Jan 2013

TRS has only one point programme viz; separate statehood to serve political ends. Had they are really interested in people's welfare they would have raised issues and solutions in assembly. Separation of state is not the panacea for all the ills of economy. It is the planning and selfless and coorrup free society that is required to achieve the desired results.

wrong spelling..... by sudhir on 22 Jan 2013

Not Sudhilkumar Shinde it is Sushilkumar Shinde.

Mr. by k rahul on 22 Jan 2013

Carving a separate state is politically motivated without any doubts. The TRS should have pressurised for the development of the area rather than for creating a separate state without thinking about all those ppl who r from non-Telangana area and now have settled in Telangana area. No doubt Telangana area has been under developed but so are other non-Telangana districts such as Anantapur, Srikakulam, etc. Definitely, it is the fault of the politicians who have had no application so far as development of the region is concerned. These politicians include those who are now in TRS (as well as other parties who have formed other parties supporting the ongoing struggle) but previously have served in other ruling parties. So, why hadn't they made a hue & cry then? The most important demand is to include Hyderabad in Telangana. As per Sri Krishna committee's report, it would be appropriate to make Hyderabad a Union Territory like chandigarh.
