Anna Hazare to put together new team, draw road-map for anti-graft crusade: Hegde

Anna Hazare is going to call a meeting of all like-minded people by the end of this month to work out a strategy based on views expressed there.

Bangalore After disbanding his team, Anna Hazare is working on plans to stitch a new team in the crusade against corruption for which he has convened a meeting of like-minded people by the end of this month.

Former Karnataka Lokayukta Santosh Hegde, who was part of erstwhile Team Anna disbanded by the social activist on August 6, said Hazare told him about the plans when he met him during his week-long stay here for naturopathy treatment.

"He (Hazare) is going to call a meeting of all like-minded people by the end of this month and he will work out a strategy based on views expressed there (the meeting)," Hegde, a former Supreme Court judge, said here today. "It will draw up a road-map for the future," he added.

Asked if members of the erstwhile team would be part of the new one, Hegde said: "Must be, why would he (Hazare) exclude (them). That's what he told me," and added: "the new team may have different outlook."

"I think he will include more people (compared to erstwhile Team Anna)," he said. Team Anna was set up in Hazare's name to press Parliament and government for a strong Lokpal bill.

On whether the new team's movement would be apolitical, Hegde said, "That will be decided (at the meeting). That's an issue that's already there with people having different opinions about that."

Hazare, meanwhile, rejected suggestions of differences in the erstwhile Team Anna. "You will see that we will fight unitedly".

He said people's mandate is no longer with the UPA government and that this would get reflected in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

Asked to comment on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's rejection of the opposition BJP's demand for his resignation on the coal allocation issue, Hazare told reporters:" People's mandate is not with them (now). It will show in 2014 (Lok Sabha poll)".

After a week-long rejuvenation treatment at Jindal Nature Care Institute here, he said he feels fighting-fit.

"I am alright now and ready for fight as well (crusade against corruption). I will travel around the country and visit the states to awaken the people. Fight will continue till the country becomes corruption-free," Hazare said.

Corruption by Major Balwan Singh on 06 Nov 2012

I feel corruption can be only fought Anna Way. Even if IAC comes to power, no one imagines they will control it or even fight it. they will be part of the same system. Evil has to be fought and not being a part of it to fight. Anna is great and on a right path. I am a 1971 war disabled and fighting the corruption for the last 35 years, simply because it keeps me happy. I have lost so much in this war but never lost my courage. The CM's Legal adviser demanded a bribe of one crore for a plot of mine allotted by Govt and fully paid by me, with a sanctioned building lot many trees was just snatched saying I disobeyed the CM. The corruption all around is so much including the Supreme court that any charges on them fail to make a contempt on me. They found it better to keep mum and keep doing every corrupt action at free will. For my !00 % disability in my both legs I feel really helpless. I am not just afraid of any thing including my life for nation but find no way to fight.

BJP MLAs in KA by Shiva G on 04 Sep 2012

Something has to be done regarding the BJP MLA's on a vacation in south america. This is the height of violating the oath - no fear or favor clause - they have done themselves a favor which is the worst. Any PIL activists reading this.

Team Anne by chander on 04 Sep 2012

I agree with Ampepal that team Anne needs strong peapoles. Former Judges, Lawyers, commanders like VK singh must come out and joint Anne. And ask for new political system. Only Powerful Indian Prisident. Parliament must be the low makers. Strong Prisident elected by peapole of India directly like America. It wil save bilions of rupees every years. No secutity for PM and CMs &MPs/MLAs. The same in states. Governers must be elected by the peapole directed. NO croupted PM. NO croupted CMs.Kikk them out and save money.

FOURTH FRONT (ANNA PARTY) by INDIAN on 03 Sep 2012

TARGETING CONGRESS/BJP/COMMUNIST WILL MAKE TEAM ANNA PARTY NEUTRAL (FOURTH FRONT). CONGRESS IS CORRUPT BUT BJP IS CORRUPT & COMMUNAL. IF TEAM ANNA HAS TO WIN, THEN TEAM ANNA HAS TO TARGET CONGRESS/BJP/COMMUNIST. JAI HIND.

Equating congress and other parties as same is a way of bailing out congress by its agents by Raman on 04 Sep 2012

clever ploy by congress agents to dilute corruption agitation against most corrupt, anti-national congress. Between BJP and Congresss, it is BJP which agreed with most of Anna's demands, wants black money horded by congress high-command and congress-friends back, where as congress is doing everything to keep the statuesque and using/unleashing CBI, Ed etc. against anti-corruption, anti-clack money agitators. Congress agents like fake swami Agnivesh, Kejariwal and Maoist Prashant Bushan are helping congress by dividing /weaning away anti- corruption votes from the main opposition BJP. Media is in hand-in-glove with congress to bailout it from all corruption issues by calling all parties as 'corrupt', just like it bailed out congress role in 26/11 attacks on Mumbai by its friends!

Mr by Ampepal on 03 Sep 2012

ANNA can't do anything unless some strong witted and honest law abiding citizens join him. This is also a request all honest, VERY STRONG attorneys and Judges to join the group. And then have all the possible law suites going on all corrupt political leaders. Start from Centre top people in Parliament.

They are doing what is told. by Rajappa on 03 Sep 2012

Intentions are very clear now. BJP has lost its face to talk about corruption , but at the same time wants to take advantage of Cogress's weakness in controling the corruption in the 2014 election ,This requires a third party to project Congress as the most corrupt and others are Holi cows.Anna, Bedi, Kejari of the meritorious community is playing the role to hijack the votes of the nuetrals.Bhramin wickedness is again in the game as it has been in the Indin History.

Anna's new team by H.M.Parekh on 03 Sep 2012

It would be wisest thing Mr.Hazara can do. They must clealy say that upon reaching the goal of ' "LokAyukta" this team wl be dissolved. For any other requirement public will be informed adequatly.
