Anti-Yashwant Sinha posters come up near BJP office, dub him 'backstabber', 'corrupt'

New Delhi The BJP’s factional feud over a second term for party president spilled on to the streets on Thursday with a poster campaign by anonymous activists against Yashwant Sinha, who demanded Nitin Gadkari’s resignation a couple of days ago.

Posters carrying pictures of Sinha, declaring him to be a “backstabber”, and projecting him as corrupt surfaced on Thursday here near the party headquarters. Though the posters were pulled down later, the party took some time before denouncing the anti-Sinha campaign.

With the posters not revealing the campaigners’ identity, Sinha dared those behind it to face him on the issue of corruption. “I want those behind the posters to reveal their identity so that a healthy debate could start,” he said, appearing to be unfazed. While he was in the Lok Sabha, party MPs noticed Sinha engaged in a discussion with party leaders Jaswant Singh and Shatrughan Sinha. Interestingly, party’s Rajya Sabha MP Ram Jethmalani had claimed that all these three leaders supported his demand for Gadkari’s resignation over allegations of wrongdoings in a business enterprise linked to him.

The BJP, which initially feigned ignorance about anti-Sinha posters, later condemned them. “The BJP condemns the poster that has surfaced. This appears to be a handiwork of mischievous elements and the party condemns it,” said party spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain.

The attack on Sinha, party leaders confided, could be by persons linked to Gadkari or the supporters of Anshuman Mishra. Earlier this year, Gadkari had wanted to send Mishra to the Rajya Sabha, but this was opposed by Sinha.

Mishra had issued a press release after Sinha demanded Gadkari’s resignation. In the press release, Mishra had wanted to know why Sinha did not resign “when he was alleged to be involved in a stock market scam in the late 90s”. However, Mishra denied his involvement in the poster campaign. “Where is the need for me to hide when I had issued a public statement against Sinha’s remarks,” Mishra said.

Two things are absolutely clear, bjp is the biggest threat to democracy and they are not letting the house function because they don't want to answer sharp questions of opposition.

While at one side Narendra Modi did not appoint LOKAYUKTA in Gujarat for 7 years, the other side they opposed the governor who used her special powers in appointing the LOKAYUKTA for the sack of 6 crore gujaraties. Bjp could not digest this legal moves by governor and run a campaign across the state against the governor. Even the national leaders of bjp stalled the house for 3 days. The most shameful and anti democracy move came by bjp when senior leader ARUN Jetaly said 'the high court of Gujarat is doubtful'after Gujarat high court supported governors decision to appoint the LOKAYUKTA.

Since last two days, leaders of Gujarat bjp are not letting the house work for as silly reason as asking an apology from Shaktisinh Gohil. Why should Mr.Gohil apologies? And who is bjp to ask for an apology? Did Modi government apologies to the governor for running a state wide campaign? Did Sushma Swaraj and her team apologies to p.chidambaram? Did Arun Jetaly apologies for questioning the high court?

National leadership of bjp stalled house and did not allow p.chidambaram in last parliament session of alleged his involvement in 2g case.Later the patiyala court suspended the entire case against p.chidambaram.

Frustrated Old Politicians by Bodan on 23 Nov 2012

YS deserved such posters for trying to destroy the image of the party for his personal agenda. These old frustrated politicians have become liability of the party . if they have any moral sense, either they should resign or keep quiet. One does not discus openly about the domestic matters of a family in public.
