“Last year, when Anna Hazare had launched his movement, I had called him for support. But at that time, they were not a political party. A few days ago, after launching their political foray, Sisodia called saying they would like to join us in Punjab. Their agenda and thinking is very close to ours. Parties, who have the same cause must meet, even if it is for an exchange of ideas, opinions and experiences. So, we are meeting tomorrow in New Delhi,” Manpreet said.
However, claiming that so far, there is no commitment of an alliance, he added: “There are many small parties all over the country who want to bring a change. The feeling is strong among people across the country. So, there is no harm in meeting like-minded parties.”
Manpreet further said that his party had started a awareness movement in Punjab even before the IAC’s campaign was launched last year. “Our agenda is wider than theirs. While their main fight is against corruption, our fight is also against poverty, lack of education, health facilities and unemployment,” he said.

Just as the corrupt have joined hands to derail the agenda of Team Anna, it is high time that people with good intentions should join hands to create a formidable political alternative. Manpreet and Kejriwal have a lot in similar and their coming together will be good for the region. They must keep it going. "Boond-boond se dariya Banata Hai" aur "ek aur ek gyarah hote hain".
Mr. Kejriwal's sweeping statements about the generality of the political community in India make it a clear case of a clash of ambition versus philosophy. Till a few days ago his actions indicated his philosophy, which seemed to the country, focused on constructive change. But now the means to the end have changed and thus has entered in the picture, personal ambition. Anybody would agree that there was a natural choice for Mr.Kejriwal to start his political venture by joining from among the political parties. Mr. Kejriwal's attempt at establishing a Utopian system through a separate political party will only call for harsher criticism. Now these latest developments of him joining hands with a regional party in Punjab with the pretext of 'like minded parties' only shows that his ambitions don't allow him to act as a small fish in a big pond.Let's hope, however, that by such alliances, where he ensures to have a big say in matters, he does not end up becoming a big fish in a small pond.
You can not sitting in the home and dream for good things to happen. We need attitude of AK. You call it ambition or desire. But we call it change for good.
IAC is taking a bold step forging an alliance with an existing established political party in Punjab. While it is welcome, we may have to note that Mr Kejriwal derided almost all the political parties, with national parties getting a scorn or two more. It will be worthwhile to wait and watch the unfolding of this alliance as it may have a significant effect on the USP of IAC...
