Bal Thackeray tags Sushilkumar Shinde 'Nishan-e-Pakistan'

Mumbai Locking horns with Sushilkumar Shinde for promising "best possible" security to the Pakistani team during the upcoming Indo-Pak cricket series, Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray today scoffed at him saying he should be bestowed the title of 'Nishan-e-Pakistan'.

Thackeray, who has threatened to disrupt the matches, said his opposition to the tour is born out of "staunch nationalism" and not political interest.

He also targeted the Indian cricket team, terming its members as "businessmen in the guise of cricketers".

"If protecting foreign actors and players is your responsibility, whose job is it to protect lives and properties of Indian citizens under threat from Pakistani terrorists," the Sena patriarch said in an editorial in party mouthpiece 'Saamana'.

Describing Ajmal Kasab, Afzal Guru and Abu Jundal as "actors who specialise in the art of terror attacks", Thackeray said, "they have been kept alive by you in special protection."

"You have to be honoured with Nishan-e-Pakistan (Pakistan's highest civilian honour) and Order of Pakistan titles," he said and deplored that not one Indian cricketer had opposed the tour.

"This is all the game of money. Innocent people die in terror attacks, soldiers lay down their lives fighting terrorists from across the border, but businessmen in the guise of cricketers are set to play the game with Pakistanis," he said.

Shinde, while responding to Thackeray's threat of disrupting the matches, had yesterday deprecated mixing sports and culture with politics, and said best possible security will be provided to Pakistani team and spectators.

The Shiv Sena chief had on Monday called upon "staunch Hindus and patriotic people of India" to disrupt the matches that would revive cricketing ties between the two countries, snapped after 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks in 2008.

Thackeray also lashed out at Shinde for his statement "to forget the past" and play cricket with Pakistan.

Though Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his then Pakistani counterpart Yousuf Raza Gilani had watched the high-profile World Cup semi-final in Mohali last year, the two countries have not had a bilateral series since Pakistan's 2007 tour of India.

The arch sub-continental rivals are to play three ODIs and two Twenty20 Internationals between December 2012 and January 2013. The ODI matches will be played in Chennai, Kolkata and New Delhi and the Twenty20 games in Bangalore and Ahmedabad.

Let's change the enemy concept.Bring peace and friendship. Our two nations need a happy life free from fighting each other. We must shake our hands for our kids future. Our generation spend a period of hate and fighting let's give a chance for peace. You can not change society by hate, fighting and fear but we can bring happiness and peace through love, friendship and mutual respect. India and Pakistan are consider third class world for modern West World WHY? Because we just know how to fight, how to rub, how to make corruption, how to cheat, how to kill , terrorism on the name of religion, etc. People are begging in the streets for bread and Politician are rising their money in Swiss banks Why? We must fight against our true enemy. Who is that? Those corrupt politician, our leader in both nations who just left us fighting in the name of India and Pakistan and they just sitting enjoying a luxurious life. Our kids need education, proper health facilities, jobs not gun and bullets.

security for Pak team by m arunasalam on 09 Nov 2012

The security of the is should be the prime priority; not the security of the Pak cricket team as they are agents pf ISI playing a duel role to make mischief in the county.

No Bilateral series until Pakistan Punish the masterminda behind 26/11 attack by Satyajit Patra on 09 Nov 2012

I am not a follower of Bal Thakrey. According to my personal opinion no bilateral series should be palyed with Pkaitan unless they act positively and punish those monsters who are acting against Indian people and are funded by one sections of Pakistan Army and ISI. If you are about to start Indo Pak criket tie why did you stop it after Mumbai attack.....Pakistan has to develop trust otherwise again monsters like Hafeez saeed led organizations will attack Indian people and cricket match will stop. Then what is the benefits.personally I believe India need to form death squad like Mossad whose work will be serach those monters behind Mumbai attack hiding anywhere in this world and eliminate them........Pakisatn thinks our silence as our weakness..I don't have any hatred feeling against Pakistani common people they are good I ahte only ISI and those extremists who kill people..........

Fun guy by Freespirit on 09 Nov 2012

Never a dull moment with this Thackeray guy. Still wants to be in the limelight. When there are no guarantees for life, he thinks he will live forever. Spewing hatred for anything non Maharashtrian this guy is something. One wonders whether he sleeps well at night.

Thackeray is right by Mouli on 09 Nov 2012

Whats wrong in what thackeray is saying. Dont you have some sense of patriotism. Go and ask the families of victims who lost their lives in the Pak engineered 26/11 attacks. Why should we entertain people from that country when they dont even have the guts to condemn these attacks. They come here because they get money like they get nowhere. This is height of shamelessness by Shine and the Indian government and the cricket board as well as the crickteers.

Spineless Idiots ruling India by Hari haran on 09 Nov 2012

@ Fun fuy - no wonder ur life seems all funny when it does not have Nationalism. Perhaps you are the kind of guy who would welcome the man who rapes ur mother and sister & kills them. And serve them biryani. For you the country & patriotism means nothing. Look at Bangladesh - they have asked Pak to apologise for the 1971 genocide. Does India have one Politician who had asked Pakis to apologise for 26/11 ? Spineless idiots like you "fun guy" !!!
