Normally a meeting of party MPs is held just ahead of Parliament session but in this case, the winter session is almost three weeks away, so there was speculation over the reason for calling the meeting.
The meeting, which has got underway, assumes significance owing to reports about 86-year-old Thackeray's condition.
Thackeray, who founded the Shiv Sena in 1966, has not been keeping well and, at a Dussehra rally here last week, he addressed party workers via a recorded video message, asking them to support his son Uddhav and grandson Aditya.
"I have collapsed physically... I can't walk... I am tired," he had said in what was seen by many as an indication of his retirement from public life.
Yesterday, Thackeray's nephew, Raj, who formed MNS in 2006, met the ailing Sena chief, his fourth meeting in as many months.
However, talking to reporters after the meeting, Uddhav said today's meeting had nothing to do with his father's health and it was held as per schedule.
"The meeting was preplanned and not an emergency meeting," he said.
In response to a query, Uddhav said, "Everyone is worried about Shiv Sena chief's health," and added, "he is receiving medical treatment."
About Godhra, people have read the interview of wellknown doctor of Gujarat that the burning act of godhra train was by RSS. As per his information his wife was a part of those pilgrims acompanied by RSS leaders. The RSS activist who invite her for pilgrimage, are alive and she and some other like her burned because it was pre planned massacre by same RSS leaders. They set the train boggy on fire and ran to the another boggy and left innocent hindus burning.
just wanted to tell shri Bal Thackrey I am a muslim and I am an Indian. We dont have to prove that tp anyone.
Why talk of these things now? Let's pray for Balasaheb's speedy recovery. Aameen.
I liked the principled leader having courage to oppose any movement that goes againat nation. He may be a villain to few people but got respect from every leaders irrespective of party lines.I am praying God for speedy recovery from illness as the nations gets his advise atleast for another 5 years,
Bal Takre will be remembered for his pogrom against south indians especially against Tamils and hoteliers shetty.
My respects to him ,i know that many persons dont like him (esp non maharashtrians) I am a South Indiam born and brought up in Mumbai I respect him the most because people who stsy in Mumbai know that the anti national forces (aka Muslims) in Mumbai are not creating trouble as they do in other parts of the Country just because of him and his Party ,and for this one reason I sincerly pray and hope the mantle is taken over by some one like him Jai Maharashtra,Har Har Mahadev
Bal Thakarey will also be remembered for the massacre of hundreds of innocent Muslims during 1993 riots. A journalist who witnessed him instructing Sainik's to atack muslims testified before the Shri Krishna commission..unfortunately the commission's recomendatios were never implimented and all these murderers are still scot free..
I think Suresh you were not in Mumbai i the year 92 and 93.. other wise you would not told the half truth... If you are mumbaikar from birth, than shame on you.. or otherwise you are from other party..
and Muslims will also be remembered for burning alive more than 57 pilgrims returning from Ayodhya in the train coach at Godhra rly stn.and also the Marad massacre in which a dozen innocent Hindu fishermen were murdered by Muslim hordes in Kerala. And of course the Babri mosque was erected after deliberately razing to the ground the Ramjanmabhoomi Temple at Ayodhya by the invader Babar purely to insult the Hindus. We too cannot forget all this and on top you have divided the nation into two in 1947.Talk of the pot calling the kettle black....!
