Navsari An NGO here has filed a petition in Navsari district court seeking to prohibit the entry of Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s Swami Vivekananda Yuva Vikas Yatra in the district on grounds that it went against the principles of Swami Vivekananda and that it would hurt his “feelings”.

The petition, filed by lawyer and RTI activist Kanu Sukhadia who runs an NGO by the name of SEWA, says, “Modi has started the yatra keeping in mind the forthcoming elections. Swami Vivekananda had not taken out any rallies for any elections.”

The court heard the petitioner and reserved the verdict till Friday afternoon. The yatra is scheduled to enter Navsari town by Friday evening.

Earlier, pitching for appointment of a Lokayukta in the state, Sukhadia had grown his beard up to eight inches.

“I have a right to represent my feelings against any person before court,” Sukhadia told The Indian Express.
