For Atmos, Dolby says it has worked with leading Indian and international filmmakers. The technology gives the director complete creative control over sound in a film. This is achieved by creating 128 audio streams using up to 64 speakers.
“Atmos moves sound across the theatre to match visuals. It can be adapted to various theatre sizes. We have placed speakers directly above the audience to create object oriented sound,” Pankaj Kedia, Dolby’s country manager, said.
The first Indian movie to feature Atmos is a remastered version of Tamil film Sivaji.
