Congress stares at humiliating defeat in 2014 polls: BJP

Panaji Senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu today said Congress would be decimated in 2014 Lok Sabha elections owing to its failure on all fronts notwithstanding the emphasis that party is laying on projecting gen next leaders.

"Nobody will be able to save Congress party from facing defeat in general elections. As and when elections are held, that party will suffer a humiliating defeat...Congress would be reduced to double digit in 2014 Lok Sabha polls", Naidu told reporters here.

Without naming Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, Naidu said "the debate is that somebody is going to save the Congress is useless...They may have a youth leader or not".

He said a strong wave is rising against Congress in the country as people are feeling "betrayed". "People look at Congress as betrayers. UPA government has failed on various fronts", he alleged.

Taking a dig at Congress, Naidu said Congress may opt for advancing the general elections as "the party is already facing several scams and it would not wait for more scams to be added before elections (on due date)".

Terming as unrealistic the policy decisions of government, Naidu said "the petrol prices are hiked 15 times while that of fertiliser by 20 times...Government has also restricted supply of LPG cylinders to nine per year".

Congress to be wiped out. by Bodan on 31 Jan 2013

This is the general feeling that Congress will not cross two digit because of their unpatriotic, corrupt and selfish governance. They will be out for another 20 years as they themselves have dug their graveyard with immature selfish leaders.

Venkaiyah Naidu's dreams... by vicki on 31 Jan 2013

These are Mungeri Venkaiah's haseen sapne. BJP, if it proposes Modi as it's PM candidate will not touch even three figures in next general elections. This is my prophesy.

Venkaiahji's dream by SURESH on 30 Jan 2013

Any party will be better than congress. BJP has intention to rule the country properly and definetly better than congress

Start right away by crosscares on 30 Jan 2013

BJP is no better...Our country is actually run by IAS officers. so they need only to be given proper direction and made responsibility. We do not need the corrupt UPA NDA SP BSP or the likes. AAP shows the potential so they can lead us. The Corporates may try to stub AAP for their own interest. But its for us to decide and its the time now...start right away..

BJP's day dreaming by HARIDAS MANDAL on 30 Jan 2013

Indian electorate especially in the rural area are more matured than average urban voters who either too rich or too lazy or too saffronised. Those practical in life masses are not easily fooled by mere Ananas, Bananas, Bapus, Sri Sri 420 or Bababababa Rammmm . They have their ear firmly on the mother earth. They had allowed one Ayodhya Demolition and seen its rippling effect. When it comes to choose MPs they are very careful and calibrated in their approach. No amount religious fanaticism will sway their votes or blur their vision. They are the last resort to our still not dead democracy. I wish Grand Old congress this time give majority tickets to BC/OBCs with full convictions. It is the BC/OBCs which will come out winner whatever way one look at it.

Congress post election by kailash singh on 30 Jan 2013

Since last election it has not broken any new ground so also BJP. Congress may not be in reckoning in UP and Bihar which have 120 seats. In Tamilnadu too situation for the Party is not looking any bright.WB will see battle between left and Mamata di and Congress may come poor third without ally.It is caught in trap of Telengana and Jagan in Andhra. However,if it is able to wean Mslim vote in UP and Bihar, improbable, and finds some miracle solution of Andhra trap,it may not fall as badly.Discussing BJP is another subject.

PAR LIAMENTARY ELECTION 2014 by Lakshman on 30 Jan 2013

First, break the relations with Nitish even if it means loss of. power. Rope-in and Activate Govindacharya in Hindi belt. His organising skills are very much needed and U.P voters should be made to understand that a vote to SP or BSP in Parliamentary election is a vote to Congress indeed. This point must be stressed in Hindi belt. Muslims also made to understand their needless fear and their voting pattern not only helps corrupt politicians but also endanger the survival of democracy in India. If these issues do not reach the indian public neither BJP wil come to power nor there is any hope for progress in the near future.

princea by princea on 30 Jan 2013

I remember in 2006 ALSO, Venkaiah Naidu had said Congress is sinking ship however saw BJP sinking. He only talks without understaning ground realites..He needs to come out of cozy air condition.

NO POLITICAL PARTY CAN WIN ALONE 2014 ELECTIONS by Joshua on 30 Jan 2013

Kindly note it is almost fixed in 2009 General election that congress will be routed out of power but nothing happen.Though congress is really in bad shape and one of most corrupt govt ever in history of India. But BJP is really not a political party which can take advantage of such political mess up.Real advantage is going to be taken my small political party . And I pray that Arvind Kejriwal party will emerge out as a king maker and not political party will get triple digit seats that is for sure.

Venkaiah is himself a big time loser by Bush on 30 Jan 2013

May be congress will lose or whatever its fate may be, but leaders like Venkaiah will certainly bring defeat to BJP. He doesnt have the capacity to win by himself, he hasnt got a single seat for bjp in AP nor has he tried to build the party. The only thing he does is sit in the cosy party office in Delhi and spoil the prospects of the party election by election making faulty and nonsensical decisions. Ppl like Venkaiah are unfit for any political party..

BJP FUTURE by R.P.SINGH on 30 Jan 2013

day dreaming by mr naidu, the congress will never be finished by BJP ,the way it is conducting itself, only one leader in bjp can bring to power ,mr modi, the darling of masses today.why siva sena jd(u) is afraid of because they know that they will be wiped out either they have to merge with bjp or they have to go to a defeated party.every so called secular party(actualy they are most communal)are afraid of modi.sushma is a small chip nothing else like adwani.mr modi can bring bjp to power on its ownand people are ready for that, todays youth is commited to modi mantra.

flop Naidu by S Tomas on 30 Jan 2013

Venkaiah Naidu from day one is a flop politician in fact a burden for BJP an extra luggage . Poor fellow is dreaming a pipe dream...anyways...BJP is in fact in worse state than Congress, even in Gujarat other than running a mock show hand in hand with some media houses show man Modi, BJP is an utter failure. Poor citizens of India always taken for a ride by politicians

Venkaia's day dreaming by Adhikari on 30 Jan 2013

The position of BJP in 2014 elections will not be better than Congress. Its projections are going to cost it vote bank and will cause rift within the party. It is a wishful thinking on the part of Naidu. Akela Channa Bhad nahi phod sakta. BJP has one Narender Modi to bank upon ignoring all its senior and most experienced leaders who will not opt to play second fiddle.

ok by sameer on 30 Jan 2013

I donot blame any party but thing is that people have no faith in congress due so many corruptions, unemployment and proverty in India.....

Has Congress started its homework thro Vishwaroopam? by Suprasanna Bhat on 30 Jan 2013

Has Congress started its homework thro Vishwaroopam movie? Jaya Govt in TN is being targeted by both sides - Movie Troupe and Islamic Oraganization. Tilt towards any side will loose the other!! Is it a nice political trap - to weaken Jaya's fame in TN.

Polls 2014 by Rajkamal on 30 Jan 2013

Rather than saying this way, say that BJP will free this country and its people from the Congress, Corruption, Inflation and shall bring back rule of law. Criminals shall be punished, and punished in time. The country shall have a secular government, in the true sense of the word.
