A Delhi-based journalist Abhinandan Mishra and members of IAC led by their local convener Laxman Singh were allegedly manhandled and stones were pelted on them when they were returning from Pitaura, native place of Khurshid in Kayamganj area this afternoon, sources said.
Khurshid represents the Farrukhabad Lok Sabha constituency of Uttar Pradesh.
The IAC members claimed that they have informed senior police officials about the incident.
When contacted, Additional Superintendent of Police O P Singh said he has been informed over phone about the incident and has asked the journalist and IAC members to lodge a written complaint.
The matter would be probed and the required action would be taken against those found guilty, he said.

The government should be careful when allocating important cabinet rank - allocating law ministry from a minority community from UP is totally wrong.
If there was any doubt that the LAW minister's statements were threats and instructions for his lackeys to act, they seem dispelled. Shame on this government. And the PM has made himself totally irrelevant. Congress style functioning and compromising at every stage has ruined the country and made it bereft of statesmen of any stature except maybe the president. President's rule???
The Law minister is not fit to serve in public office. Mr. Kursheed's words are shocking and give us an insight into the mafioso mindset of politicians holding high offices. The problem is endemic to Indian political parties across the spectrum. Our political parties function largely as feudal groups with narrow agendas, zero tolerance for dissent, and absolute power concentration at the top. Add to this the elements of corruption and crime and we have a political culture that routinely throws up leaders who are disconnected from their party base and constituents and are ill-equipped to handle public issues with responsibility and maturity. The Law minister needs to demonstrate some decent and "lawful" behavior by resigning immediately.
Who in the police/legal establishment will now take action against the rabble rousing Law Minister? No one,I fear and our slide towards a banana republic now seems unstoppable.
robert vadra was correct...we all are mangoes in banana republic. The law minister can threaten murder...
It is the shame on law minister and prime minister !
