With the two arrests, the total number of persons arrested in this case has climbed to four. Two persons were arrested yesterday.
The incident triggered outrage with students of Jawaharlal Nehru University staging a demonstration outside Vasant Kunj Police Station.
The 23-year-old para-medical student was raped and brutally assaulted by four men who also attacked her male friend and threw both of them out of the vehicle.
Last night, Ram Singh, the driver of the bus in which the girl was raped, and his brother Yogesh were arrested. Singh and Yogesh are the first to be arrested, police said and added that Yogesh was driving the bus when Singh allegedly raped the girl along with others.
Though still critical, the victim on Monday tried to communicate with her doctors by writing notes. In one note she has told them that the breathing tube is irritating her throat. The other mentions her ATM card and two mobile phones are missing.
The doctors have said it is a good sign that she is fighting the breathing tube, which means she is trying to breathe on her own. The doctors said a surgery to repair her intestine can be undertaken Tuesday.
Both the girl and her male friend, who had boarded the chartered bus with tinted glass windows from Munirka in south Delhi around 9.45 pm to Palam, were assaulted with an iron rod by the men after the two resisted before they were dumped on the road side near Mahipalpur flyover, police said.
Sources said police managed to get the CCTV footage of the bus from which they managed to zero in on the bus. The investigators also send text messages to mobile phones of the victims which were snatched by the attackers.
"One of the phones was active and it helped us to pinpoint on them," a senior police official said.
Police have recovered the iron rod which was used to assault the victim and her male friend, the official said.
Students, who were protesting outside the police station, said Delhi cannot stand women stepping out of their homes at night.
"We try to create awareness in every locality but nobody cares. The government and police must ensure that harassment of women in Delhi should stop. Only CCTVs won't work," one of the protesters said.
Chhaya Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South, told reporters, that both the girl and boy had "put up a fight" with the men.
She said the bus which the duo boarded was not in commercial service and they were picked up by the driver from Munirka bus stop for Rs 10 each to be dropped at Palam.
"When they boarded the bus, there were a few other men as well in the vehicle. There was an argument between the male friend and others... As of now, we can confirm the involvement of four men. They beat them up brutally using iron rods," she said.
She also said seven people appeared to be inside the bus but only four were involved in the incident. Sharma said both victims are under treatment and police got some clues from the male friend.
The police official said the cops came to know of the incident after the victims were dumped near Mahipalpur flyover. They were rushed to AIIMS from where the girl was shifted to Safdarjung Hospital.

Pluck their hair with hand and write I AM A RAPIST and cut their nails first and then their fingers dip into hot salty water cut all the parts one by one slowly and throw them into the tank that filled with chilli powder... They should forget the word rape not only that culprits every one those who think to do it..
Instead of death penalty, castrate and keep them in the prison for life. Change the new law accordingly. Death penalty won't stop sexual or any other crime.

they gave her soo much of pain without any reason, all six men knew what they were doing, all six of them were making efforts together in torturing the innocent girl, this is horrible to even think of the mental n physical pain she had faced when six such brutes with common intention were planning and doing such act, they were using all their brains in committing this crime, driving the bus continuously, the juvenile accused is also equally punishable, the deed he did was not a mistake of a little child, the right punishment for them is to remove their skin when they are in full senses, so that with every passing second they will feel what they must not have done to avoid this pain n death, the other such sick n socially dangerous people will also get a lesson that even if there is 1% probability of getting caught, what they will have to face, but unfortunately nothing can be done with the kind of corrupt insensitive, apathetic and criminal minded, rulers we have at every level.

Now its high time. Our govt should make a law for rapists. Cut their private part at India Gate in front of thousands of people and their should be a live telecast of the same. Then only these rapists would realize ki izzatt kya hoti hai.. Audience should throw stones and shoes on them. Make them handicap so that they won't be able to earn ever. Survival should become so hard for them ke woh zinda bhi naa reh paaye or marr bhi naa paaye..cut their hands n legs so that they won't be able to do anything for themselves...
All those rapist should get some diffrent punishment. There both the hands and both the legs should be cutted off and let them live there life in roads as the begger, with a steeker on there face "I am a rapist kick me".
