Ram Singh, in his statement to police, admitted they all got drunk and planned to abduct women from the Ring Road. His statement is one of the many documents attached to the chargesheet, a police officer said.
The officer said Ram Singh told them that they had a liquor party in Ravi Dass Camp to celebrate the birthday of a common friend, Murari. It was at this party that they planned to go out on a drive and pick up women, the officer claimed.
“That night, they were on the lookout for sex workers. When they could not find any, they decided to abduct women walking alone on the Ring Road. It was with this intention that they lured the paramedic student and her male friend into the bus,” the officer said.
In the chargesheet, police have added section 120B (criminal conspiracy) against all accused and mentioned that the crime was “well planned”.
The five men — the sixth accused is a juvenile who will appear before a juvenile justice board on January 15 — will be produced in court again on Thursday.
Meanwhile, police are waiting for the autopsy report of the victim from Singapore where she died at the Mount Elizabeth hospital on December 29, 13 days after the assault on the bus.
