It’s the same story on TV. Friday through Sunday, viewers tune into ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ just to see Bachchan host the game show. His repartee with the contestants, his humble responses to their effusiveness, the ease with which he navigates his superstardom is the hallmark of a great TV host.

On Friday evening, it’ll be the turn of Bachchan to be in the hot-seat as he interacts with the cream of the national capital at The Indian Express Adda, a unique series of conversations with individuals at the centre of change.

The Adda series began in August last year in Delhi with global marketing and ad guru Martin Sorrell and travelled to Mumbai to host superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The glittering lineup of other Adda guests includes Pulitzer-winning The New York Times columnist Thomas L Friedman, Delhi CM Sheila Dixit, editor-author Fareed Zakaria, actor Vidya Balan, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, among others.

The conversation with Bachchan promises to be a treat. He may have turned selective about his film projects but for someone who has had a Paa and a Black in his recent body of work, the bar indeed has to be high. The length of his roles however are immaterial to him. He is as puffed up about a dance number in Bol Bachchan where he shook a leg with son Abhishek and Ajay Devgn as he is about his much touted happy traveller cameo act in the soon to be released Sridevi-starrer English Vinglish. Everyone is smitten by his baritone and the screen presence, even Hollywood. In 2013 Bachchan will be seen in Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby. He plays the role of Meyer Wolfsheim and has Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan and Toby Maguire as his co actors.
