On Sunday, Singh had tweeted, “Arvind Kejriwal is like Rakhi Sawant. They both try and expose, but with no substance.” Singh had, however, added, “Apologies to Rakhi Sawant I am an old fan of hers!”
In her letter, dated November 12, Sawant wrote: “I have already issued instruction to my lawyer Ejaz Naqvi to issue notice for claim against defamation for damage of Rs 50 crore to said accused Digvijaya Singh at his address for loss etc and further calling on him to stop such comment in further future (sic)... who told Digvijaya Singh that I have no substance.”
Sawant, who claimed to be a cultural activist, said that Singh “has lowered my image and reputation by comparing with masculine gender Kejriwal (sic)... accused Digvijaya has compared me with political activist who has no specific base and character”. Singh’s remarks are a “gruesome attack on my noble character,” Sawant stated in her letter.
Seeking action against Singh, Sawant urged the authorities “to register an appropriate complaint and FIR for outraging the modesty of a woman, charges of passing lewd remarks and eve teasing, abusing, mischief, passing defamatory remark and false statement and rumour against me and criminal conspiracy”.
She also asked the matter to be handed over to the CBI to make necessary inquiry under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
“We have received the letter and are contemplating what further steps can be taken,” said Arun Jadhav, Senior Police Inspector, Goregaon Police Station.

Kudos To Rakhi for taking up the issue of Indian male politicians denigrating Indian women of all ages. These motor mouths need to be gagged once and for all. The practice first spewing derogatory statements then defenses of 'she is like my sister' and I have great or utmost respect for her don't cut it anymore. Going the route of the FIR and the courts is ineffective and will never come to the desired conclusion. After all the cops are male and we all know what they think of women So we wont get past the first hurdle. Fist women have to deal with the lewd rants, and getting eye scanned at the police station. These very cops who have sworn to uphold our rights and protect us have in so many cases turned perpetrators and persecutors. The best way is just go out and give these male politicians a dose of their own medicine. Make outrageous statements about their manhood, appearance and the just say sorry,' I look upon you as my brother'. Rakhi use all the media repeatedly!
