'Ek Tha Tiger' in trouble over copyright issue

Bombay High Court orders probe into complaint of copyright theft against Yashraj Films.

Mumbai Bombay High Court has directed city police to conduct a probe into the complaint of a script writer that his story idea was stolen by Yashraj Films (YRF), the producer of Salman Khan-starrer 'Ek Tha Tiger'.

Division bench of Justices A S Oka and Sadhana Jadhav last week also asked the police to take decision before November 7 on the request made by the complainant Anand Panda that the case be transferred to some other agency, from suburban Amboli police station.

Earlier, the court had ordered the police station to register an FIR, but not satisfied with the police investigation, Panda sought transfer of the probe.

According to Panda, he had written a story titled 'Ghost Wars' and registered it with Registrar of Copyrights, New Delhi. He submitted it to Yashraj Films, but the production house said it was not interested.

Panda alleged that YRF later incorporated the story idea in `Ek Tha Tiger' script.
