Aurangabad A woman constable, who allegedly hurled a shoe at a senior police officer, who had allegedly sent her lewd messages on her cellphone, has been suspended, officials said.

The woman constable threw the shoe at Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Naresh Meghrajani last night while alleging that he had sent her lewd messages on her cellphone.

She had earlier filed a complaint that three police officials had sent her vulgar smses, including ACP Meghrajani and another ACP Sandeep Bhajibhakare.

Later, police had conducted a probe into the allegations and had registered a case against Bhajibhakare and also transferred him to Ratnagiri.

Last night, the woman police personnel allegedly hurled a shoe at Meghrajani at the Commissionerate following which Aurangabad Commissioner of Police Sanjay Kumar suspended her.

The woman then went and submitted a complaint in the Begumpura police station that Meghrajani abused her.

Promote her by Aman on 04 Jan 2013

She needs to be promoted and the policemen suspended. Here is a clear example of why we have rapes in India. As long as we subjugate women, give them no respect, no acknowledgement, treat them unfairly give them no recourse to justice and abuse them constantly, we will have problems. Things will have to get worse before they get better: women are arming themselves and should start killing abusive men.

Simplicity by Danny on 04 Jan 2013

This is the worst scenario of Senior Police Officers showing no responsibility over their own conduct. They should have been suspended while investigation was being conducted if they had any self respect.

Junior suspended..senior sent for hiding...Maharastra police.. by Mahesh Naik on 04 Jan 2013

Let the enquiry be over.Who knows the secret?. She has been suspended because she is junior to the accused. Now she is free to go with stones to his new hiding place.

Double Standards by Very Sad on 04 Jan 2013

Its interesting that the top cop got transferred whilst the investigation is going on about lewd sms he was sending to a woman cop. This investigation would have taken no more than an hour or so but still not finished after about a couple of weeks or so. Now the victim has been suspended for huring a shoe at him. In fact the top cop should have been the one suspended whilst the investigation. they failed to do so but transferred him. Why suspend this woman cop who could have been transfered like male top cop.
