Girls traumatised in school premises; one raped, another stripped

Jaipur/Faridabad Two girls faced harrowing time at their schools with one being raped by the school owner and another stripped off her shirt by her teacher for not paying tuition fee.

In the Pink City, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by the owner of her school. The Class VI student of Maharaja Secondary School was allegedly raped by Ramesh Sain at the school office on Friday, Deputy SP (North) Anil Gothwal said on Saturday.

Following the incident, angry locals indulged in stone pelting and gheraoed the police station. The accused has been arrested.

In Faridabad on the outskirts of the national capital, a Class III student was stripped off her top by her class teacher for not paying her tuition fee despite the fact that the child, a daughter of an autorickshaw driver, was entitled to full fee concession.

"I was forced to take off my T-shirt. When my teacher caught hold of my skirt, I told her not to do that. When I asked why she was doing it, she said it was the principal's order. Then I was asked to stand half naked for a long time and when I tried to cover myself, she asked me to stand straight," the nine-year-old victim said.

The victim's mother said that she has a document to prove that her daughter is exempted from paying fees. Taking note of the incident, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPR) has said stern action will be taken against the teacher if she is found guilty.

"If found guilty, we will take very strict action (against the teacher). Not only the teacher, school management and authorities are equally responsible," Sandhya Bajaj, NCPR member said.

SHAME! by Gypsy on 30 Aug 2009

I wish I could say "I love My India." Not any more. With such morals, ethics and inhuman behavior towards indefensible girls and students, where are these temples of education leading the country to? And what about the legal system? It is seen that the culprits slip out of the greased palms of law enforcement agencies. I wish there were some vigilante organizations who catch hold of rapists and castrate them. There does not seem to be any other deterrent.

Shame by DeeDee on 30 Aug 2009

Shameful. But what is this frustration and anger that leads a man or woman to target innocent children entrusted to their care?? This really brings a bad name to the teaching community.

Girls traumatised in school by balu23 on 30 Aug 2009

There is a need for VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS TO COME AND PLAY. Everywhere money power, Mussel power is playing and many people are threatend or beaten to keep mum by the inhuman people. Punishment should be maximum. It is very sad to note that a person who is punished is again repeating his mistakes again. Why our law makers are not looking into this? Law should be such that one should fear to do any wrongful act. This need to be enforced.

IF???!!! by Sheila on 30 Aug 2009

IF found guilty??? Does it take a lot of 'interrogation' to confirm the guilty? If the teacher (a female, at that) did even half of what the child is saying, she should be convicted guilty. Or maybe we need the CBI to look into it.

Tit for Tat - the only treatment to bring such mad Wolfs to sense by Shaji on 29 Aug 2009

While I was a student in 1960s, we treat our schools as temple of Saraswati and respect our teachers at par with our parents, they also consider us as their own childrens. Now I feel pain to hear such horrific stories in our schools. In general, modern teachers do not show any maturity in the behaviour and profession. They are not at all fit for this teaching profession, they behave like goondas and punishing innocent childrens without any mercy or humanity. Only local Public could treat such mad wolfs and bring them into their sense by applying same type of treatment even more severe in full view of the public. Mere dismissal from the job, or book a police complaint is not enough, in fact they escape from penalty. Catch hold of the culprit and do the same punishment he/she did on the innocent child with full public view, so that he/she could remember it life long and his/her face should not worth to show to the public any more. Pleting stone to the school is foolish act.

Violation of human rights by Anant on 29 Aug 2009

When are Indians going to learn to respect each other. Poor does not mean that they don't have their dignity. These shameful acts by the Indians on the Indians must stop if our nation wants respect from other nations. No wonder USA and others treat Indians like dirt because wo do that to each other ourselves.

a shameful act.. by Abhishek on 29 Aug 2009

I completely agree with you.. we keep on raising voices against attacks on our countrymen outside but what happens back here is even more disgraceful.. we need to raise even more louder voice against that.. it only shows the fall in our so called moral values which we usually boast about..

Offence against women. by Santosh.S on 29 Aug 2009

The fear of law and punishment is being lost from the mind of people,be they are teacher, policemen or others. It is really apity that this malaise is spreading andnobody is thinking of striking at its root cause. Why lawless is rampant in Indian society, sooner it is addressed better shall it for the people, womenin particular and all those sections of the society who are not capable of guarding themselves.

TEACHERS LOOSING MORALITY. by shafiuddin on 29 Aug 2009

EVEN TEACHERS ARE ALSO LOOSING MORALITY. IT IS VERY DANGERIOUS, TEACHERS SHOULD BE SELECTED AFTER VERIFYING THEIR CHARACTER AND BEHAVIER AND DRESS CODE.

Shame on you by Rajesh Chawl on 29 Aug 2009

What a shameful act the teacher has committed in both the incidences. For the rape case I suggest that he should not be given death sentence as it would be too little for what he has done. He tool should be chopped and his face should have a tatoo of "a bloody rapist".Regarding the other indicence I think the same should be performed on the teached. A naked parade around the school rather the city may compensate for what he or she had done.So some respect for these little kids.

Torture of POOR SCHOOL GIRL by JM. MANILAL on 29 Aug 2009

Where the Social activities leaders and ‘Social women Leaders’? What they are going to do? Only Press conference and talk some ‘non-sense’? What is going to do by Government and Court? Such all activities are generating due to the lack of improper action. The women leaders should be practical not magical performance.

What is wrong with crude laws ? by chanakya on 29 Aug 2009

Events of this nature drive ordinary citizens to edge and they demand barbarious punishments. Yes there is nothing wrong in awarding stone age punishments to such beasts who are a black spot to education system. By all means, these creatures would not have completed their education in a proper way and must have got jobs in most objectionable way. It would be interesting to see how our perverted human rights practioners react to these incidents. I feel any punishment is less except awarding punishments like stoning or spanking.

Cut off 'That' by Iquebal Ahmed on 29 Aug 2009

The best punishment for the 'beast' involved is to cut off 'that' which he used to commit the heinous crime.

girls traumatised by venkat on 29 Aug 2009

Whatever action imposed on the teacher and the school management can it wipe out the pain suffered by this small girl. Can we imagine the pain and humiliation suffered by the girl in front of the classroom. So, the concerned teacher and the principal at whose instructions this incident happened, should be punished in such a way that these incidents never occur in our land.
