Lucknow Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi will be visiting his Lok Sabha constituency Amethi on September 13 and 14 after a gap of four months. For the last three months, Rahul’s new team has been working in his constituency. Rahul had given the task of managing his local area development fund work to a team of two youths — Man Singh and Chandrakant Dubey.

Sources said Chandrakant Dubey, who hails from Madhya Pradesh, was earlier part of the team managing tours of Rahul Gandhi before the Assembly elections in the state. Man Singh, on the other hand, hails from Rajasthan and is new to his team. Both are low profile workers. Earlier, a team of local workers managed Rahul’s affair in Amethi and his representative used to be Manoj Mattoo. For the past few months, Mattoo has gone on a leave.

“While little is known about them, the duo have been working as the face of Rahul Gandhi in the constituency for the past few months. Everyone knows their names. They are visiting villages, doing survey about implementation of schemes, inquiring about development needs from the villagers,” said a local leader.

During his previous visits, some of the workers and locals complained to Rahul that there was no one to listen to them leading to party’s debacle.
