Chandigarh Two more cases of rapes were reported from Haryana’s Ambala and Panipat districts on Tuesday. While a widow was allegedly raped and an MMS made of the sequence in Ambala district, the medical examination report of a 12-year-old girl, who was allegedly kidnapped last week and raped by a 24-year-old man in Panipat, also confirmed rape.

With this, the number of rapes reported in the state in the last one month has reached 14.

According to the complaint lodged by the 30-year-old widow, an acquaintance of her late husband had brought her to Ambala on the pretext of showing her some plot for investment purposes. The victim alleged that when they reached the said plot, the accused offered her a glass of juice laced with sedatives. She alleged that the moment she had the juice, she felt faint. Following this, the accused raped her and recorded the sequence on his cellphone.

The statement added that when she regained consciousness, the accused showed her the video and threatened her of dire consequences if she informed anyone about the incident. The accused is absconding.

In another case reported from Panipat, a Class VIII student, residing in Desraj Colony, was allegedly abducted by her relative. She was taken to Himachal Pradesh on October 3 and allegedly raped. The girl’s family, however, managed to trace her the next day. The matter was reported to the police on October 5, following which a case was registered against the accused on charges of kidnapping. It did not include rape charges.

The police for the girl medically examined and sent the swabs to the Forensic Sciences Laboratory (FSL) for examination.

On Tuesday, the FSL confirmed rape, following which, charges of rape were added in the case and the accused arrested.

Why so many rape cases in haryana by raj on 10 Oct 2012

It is shocking there is so many rape cases in Haryana. This is a massive social and criminal justice problem. The government should address this problem is multi-levels: 1. Revamp the criminal justice system to hand over life terms for rapists and also people who support it. 2. Use people orginatizations like NGOs , schools etc to educate the people that this is most serious crime. 3. Address any drug related issues and go after the supply chain. 4. Address any nexus between Police, politicians, criminals leads this criminals to think they can get away easily. 5. Seize all properties of the accused. 6. Make sure our population is not exposed to violent movies, obscene movies both in theatres and online. I always see how our censor board gives rating for shocking and stnning movies. I also see how families flock to buy a ticket and watch this movies which brreds creepy charaters in childrens mind. 7. Internet sites which sells sex etc should be effectively banned.
