India is leading the ongoing five-match series 2-1 after winning last two ODIs at Ranchi and Kochi, and Bell believes the England players need to keep trying to stick to basics during the remainder of the series to stand any chance of winning it, the Telegraph reports.
Bell said with the two new balls and the new regulations England players are not going to come out and play overly aggressive shots.
Bell added that the players went into the first match trying to do the basics, trying to get runs on the board and get a batter batting the majority of the overs, adding they just haven't done that in the last two matches. England suffered a minor scare when fast bowler Steven Finn suffered a finger injury in fielding but he is expected to be fit for the match.
From now, though, England must attempt to make that match meaningful, as well as to reward Ashley Giles, the new one-day coach, for his obvious industry and calmness on this trip. Bell said as players they have let Giles down in the last two games, adding they have an opportunity in Mohali for all of them to put in a performance.
