Jain Irrigation Q2 net profit triples

Mumbai Jain Irrigation Systems today posted 3-fold jump in standalone net profit to Rs 36.25 crore for the quarter ended September 30.

The company had clocked a net profit of Rs 11.57 crore in the same period last year, it said in a filing to the BSE.

However, net sales fell to Rs 617.98 crore in the second quarter of the 2012-13 fiscal, from Rs 765.04 crore in the year-ago period.

The company manufactures drip and sprinkler irrigation systems, solar water heating systems and agro-processed products among others.

The company scrip closed at Rs 65.95, up 0.84 per cent, on the BSE.
