We should not blame these panchayats for everything they say. The view expressed by them that no new law should be enacted in an EMOTIONAL atmosphere is very wise. A law has a far reaching effect.Any law enacted should be capable of proper implementaion.The present suggestion put forward by khap panchayat appear very reasonable and should be given full consideration

actually these khap panchayat has ill mature mindset.They just want the publicity that he name of khap panchayat becomes famous,but they dont know that for their sake nothing happen this is not haryana this is delhi they rule only in a small area their work is just to kill innocent people.i think that they promote this problems in our society only for this problems haryana suffers a lot that the rapists does not gave any punishment but here whole india is against for these six people found gulity for this crime and the govt has to hang those six people that this type does not happen twice.

The Khaps are relatives of those insects (rapists), They do not deserve to live, kill them.

The vision focused by the Khap Panchyat has really put the Indian Masses in dilemma in regard to the punishment for the Six accused in the Gang Rape in the Bus of Female in the National Capital .Really the point of view of the Khap Panchayat has really put the masses in dilemma that Why the Khap Panchyat has quoted such type of mind set ?

Rape act is already misused by some women for extortion or settle scores in Delhi, effected either do suicide or humiliated. But most of cases, victims are unheard.

coz all these Khaap heads are in fear coz they keep the mentality of like rapists. and they know each other very well who can rape.

I agree to the Khaps viewpoint. So IE is that shocking that a common man finds this sensible. Giving the opinions of editors is not news reporting.

As much as I dont like khap pachayats, I totally agree that death penalty could be misused.What I feel is that the current punishment is good enough. The only 2 things that is needed is a fast track system for such cases and less corruption as it is very easy in India to commit a crime and bribe the witnesses, police and judges

The heading given by you to the story is not in consonance with the news story. I hate khap panchayats but here they are not saying anything about the six accused. They are talking about proposed law and its possible misuse. Please do not confuse the innocent readers by such irrelavant headings.

I agree and disagree! To the extent these six rapists are concerned, they should be crucified. As far as the amendment to the laws are concerned, they should not be a product of knee jerk reaction. The new / amended law must be provided in-built, fool - proof safeguards against misuse. The Anti - Dowry law has become a weapon for misuse. Lets not repeat that mistake.

It would again be dancing to the tunes of Azam Khan%u2019s medieval rhapsody. The Indian Express these days indicates on their internet site that an %u2018eye for an eye%u2019 would result in turning the whole world blind. Likewise, the castration of the rapists and the people having over sex drive would eventually wipe out the human species off the surface of the Earth. The right approach would be to incarcerate the rapist indefinitely for hard labour and not let him out of the secluded cell until his sex-drive diminishes at the age of, say-75.

Khap only said not to pass a law in haste which can be misused. They did not say no to death sentence for the 6 accused. Nothing wrong with what they said. Headline is deliberately trying to mislead.

As always, the headlines are misleading and most of the people who do not click and read the whole story will feel that the khaps are wrong. why does the editor not check before such a big story going on the front page

The Indian Al Qaeda had spoken. The men of Haryana practise a form of ancient patriarchism that is the ugliest face of India. On the contrary, there is a need to organise youth groups in Haryana to track down doctors who have a history of committing foeticide on unborn female infants. These doctors should be reported to fast track courts. The law should be altered so that any doctor found to have committed foeticide on the unborn female infant is punished by hanging. Until at least 10 or 20 such murderers are hanged, this heinous practice will continue.

Don't go by headline, but atleast understand what they are saying. Only point they raise is related to misuse of law. How people have commented shows they are immature in their reactions, which itself will create problem. I support capital punishment for those rapists, but when parliament makes Law, they should insure that it is not misused.
