Learn from history of Nazi Germany: Congress and minister Manish Tewari to Narendra Modi-loving Ind Inc. (PTI)

Mumbai In a sharp reaction to the praise showered by industrialists on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi at Vibrant Gujarat Summit, Congress today sought to draw a parallel with German corporate sector's fascination for Adolph Hitler in 1930s.

"In the decade of 30's, German corporate sector had similar fascination with a gentleman who was at the helm of affairs there. The implications for the world at large were disastrous," Union Minister and Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari said.

"I think even corporate India would be well-served to draw lessons. Wise people do learn from the history and do draw appropriate lessons," Tewari told a press conference.

Tewari was asked to comment on ADAG Chairman Anil Ambani putting Modi in the same league as Mahatma Gandhi in a speech at VGS yesterday.

Tewari said "myth of vibrant Gujarat is really a fantasy-making at its best, because if looked at in terms of real numbers, states like Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka are ranked much higher than Gujarat".

On the benchmark of foreign investment, Maharashtra was far ahead in the last twelve years, he said.

"Tamil Nadu and Karnataka are also ahead....Corporate India should realise the implications of flirting with the right wing. If we draw right lessons from the history...such flirtations in the past have had very dangerous implications on the world at large."

Meanwhile, Congress leader Praveen Davar today condemned industrialist Anil Ambani for putting Modi in the league of Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel saying it was an "insult" to the memory of two nationalists and Gujarat icons.

"It is highly deplorable that Anil Ambani has compared Modi with Gandhiji and Sardar Patel. It is an insult to the memory of two nationalists and Gujarat icons, whose ideals have

been totally erased from Gujarat.

"Ambani and other corporate kings should not sink to such low levels of sycophancy and immorality," Davar said.

Mr.Tiwari had the courage to say whats in his mind...! thanks to Mr.Ambani he has not entered into politics! itherwise it would have been much worse with his comparision theory.

HA HA HA. Congress has started to feel the heat. They are at the moment mortally afraid of NAMO. OM NAMO NARAYANAYA.

MANISH TEWARI SHAMELESS by PRASANNA on 14 Jan 2013

IF MANISH COMMENTS ON MODI OR BJP THEN HE WILL EARN HIS BREAD OR OTHERWISE HE WILL BE IN TOILET ALWAYS.

Paranoid Manish by Vijay on 14 Jan 2013

These statements show that you are chamcha/peon and want to say what the Congress back room boys want to hear. It clearly establishes the fact that you ignored your self esteem by licking their boots. Its unfortunate that you continue to remain in power and we are feeling ashamed that we continue to let you remain there!!! You are a cancer to India!!!

Fe Comment by Ram on 13 Jan 2013

Manish Tiwari, are you just not able to tolerate the progress of Modi and Gujarat? Well, then why dont you start doing something progressive for the rest of India? BTW, referring to Nazi, are you are not aware that your high command is a Nazhi themselves? Are you willing to shrug them off before advising others?

Fe Comment by Krishan Ralleigh on 13 Jan 2013

There is no weight in the argument of Manish. The rise of Hitler was not because of the corprates helping him but in the Versailles Treaty which ended the First World War and brought revenge on the defeated nation that is Germany. If any party is behaving like Hitler's Nazi party that is the Congress of which Manish Tiwari has become the drum beater. He knows very well that the present Congress Party does not believe in any ideology but the apotheosis of one family. Modi is no fascist because he believes in the destiny of India. He does not blieve in corruption or favouritism. Hence Gujarat is progressing under him far more rapidly than any corress-ruled state.

Manish Tiwari as an sensless person by Sahibraj Bajaj on 13 Jan 2013

I think Congress or Manish tiwari's are become prejudiced and can not afford to listen the praise of Narinder Modi and BJP, as congress ruling states are failure in bringing the corporate investment, it was time when Mumbai was real investing point, but now many other states are ahead of Maharashta. Tamil Nadu is realy a good investing place along with Karnatka, but those are not congress ruling states. There is no fault of Manish Tiwari, because of his thinking is feeded from Congress, and he is a yes man of Congress and has to do what the party strategy is there. I appreciate the efforts of Narinder Modi, the way he is applying efforts to bring up the economy on the top of the Indian states, become a example state for all the states in India. Go ahead Modiji, the whole nation of India is behind you and BHARTIYA JANTA PARTY. Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel what they did at that time , and you doing it now, so Dead Persons are always remembered with high respect than living one.

The Congress's own history! by Anil on 13 Jan 2013

We are learnning from our own history, Tiwariji. The Congress party and Shri Rajiv Gandhi's own Night(s) of the long knives in 1984! Hitler & his Nazi cohorts must have looked upon approvingly from their graves. As far as Congress rule in Maharashtra is concerned, you guys have been in the saddle since 2004. I am from Mumbai and know very well just how much progress has been made in dealing with Mumbai's mounting civic and infrastructure woes. All Sonia Gandhi and her chamchas did was to get the Worli-Bandra sealink named after her husband and lie about the extension of the same during the last state elections. Ask Mumbaikers if they have seen even a few bricks laid beyond the the foundation stone of that extension. No one in your party of sycophants can hold a candle to Narendra Modi where development is concerned.

Regressive statements by Tiwari by Satyen Mehta on 13 Jan 2013

Manish Tiwari's statement to the Press is what is called "cutting your nose to spite your face". The Minister and Congress spokesman has only exposed how shameless teh Congress can get. Modi is a forward looking, reformist Chief Minister who has been instrumental in attracting investments to the State and set Gujarat on a irreversible path of development and who has been justifiably praised by the Industry titans and Congress attempts to belittle the good work done by CM Modi. Manish Tiwari's comments are beneath contempt.

The burden of dynasty by Anil on 13 Jan 2013

Someone's turning green with envy here! Manishji, we are more interested in studying the history of our own country-- the decadence, ineffectiveness and corruption of the Mughal and other dynasties towards the end of their rule. It was India which paid a huge price as it is paying now-- the Gandhi dynasty, given to feathering their own nests have no stomach for dealing with the myraid problems which have facing our country. How long are you guys going to wait till the prodigal son you are bent on projecting as India's next leader shows a few sparks of leadership? How can a namby pamby be sent to sit at the top just because of an accident of birth?

Fe Comment by Rajesh on 13 Jan 2013

Dear Congress - although what you say is absolutely correct - please comapre him with McARTHUR and not German dicatator. Here in Gujarat alternative view point is silenced just like McArhthur era of USA.

MANISH-PHALTU ONE by N.ASTI on 13 Jan 2013

This man has diarrhoea of speech. He was not liked by viewers even when he was only Congress-spokesperson. He is a worm in comparison to Modi. His Govt gets shivered when any talk of action against Pakistan comes-up.While Modi has taken instantaneous action of driving out Pak-delegation from vibrant Gujarat Summit.Modi is a lion compared to this frog.Does he know that Congress has played a role worse than Hitler thro' Sanjay's atrocitites of sterilization of minorities;Emergency atrocities,RAJIV'S DIRECTED POGROM OF ONLY ONE COMMUNITY NAMELY SIKHS IN 1984?Culprits not touched for action even up to this date and having love meetings with Congress leaders in power.Manish! Are you people not more dangerous than Hitler?Don't try to oppose Modi just for licking Sonia,MMS and Raul feet to get continued in impotent ministry of UPA.

CONGRESS ON THE RUN ! by ANIYAN on 13 Jan 2013

No doubt, Congress is on the run. The more they criticize, the more votes are leaked from their vote bank all over India. There had never been such appreciation for development to a political leader in India's history!! All those attended the event are wrong and only Manish Tiwari is right. Shameless man he is !

Fe Comment by n.r.singh on 13 Jan 2013

One would like to see the comments of Prime Minister Sonia Gandhi on this issue and not any of her minions.

Fe Comment by Anil on 13 Jan 2013

This Tewari dude is a joker. If Modi is Hitler, I a Gujarati is a Nazi German. Congress lost my vote forever. Lets draw some parallels. Muslims are now Jews but ones who got a separate homeland before any suffering and ones who have terrorized Gujarat and its temples. I tried it does not work. And this invoking of Gandhi 's name should stop. Gandhi was never a member of this Congress political party. And Sonia gandhi was never a member of the Gujarati Gandhi familty but the Iranian/Parsee Ghandi family that intentionaly spelt its name Gandhi. Modi with all Congress' might has only been accused of doing nothing, which is so common in India. Congress is doing nothing while Indian soldiers are being hacked in cold blood. I can write more, but this is only supposed to be a message board.

No Human on the Earth took a birth was perfect,if we take into consideration the the mythological incarnation of Vishnu, any great leader from any Continent/Country,period/century, there is no exception in this regard. No one born on the earth has died secular. Please respect a constructive, progressive mind which may have some imperfection which is not proved by our own court of law and not achieved by others in 65 yrs. This is a comment by a non-believer.

Fe Comment by venkataramanaiah ramu on 13 Jan 2013

Instead of warning the industrialists for heaping praises on the gujarat CM, shri Tiwari should have accepted the challenge and announced as to what Congress would have in stores towards fostering industrial development of the state or the country.

Fe Comment by C AS B BALCHANDHAR on 13 Jan 2013

Tiwari has every right to compare anybody with anybody. Let him do first with Sonia with Hitler and burn his fingers

Gutter politician by padmanabha on 13 Jan 2013

Gutter Manish has again opened his mouth. When a leader is working sincerely for people without caste and religious prejudice, this gutter guy compared Modi to hitler. If modi is indeed hitler this gutter guy would not have been alive. Because Modi is not hitler Gutter Manish is throwing filth on Modi. Modi takes this filth and converts into organic manure and increases the productivity. That is the difference between these two.

MB by n.r.singh on 13 Jan 2013

This m. bimari is angry because nobody is interested in buying what his corrupt party is trying to sell. In Hindi they say'khisiyani billi khambha noche'.

Learn from history of Nazi Germany: Congress minister Manish Tewari to Narendra Modi-'loving' India Inc by Balachandran Nair V on 13 Jan 2013

Mr. Manish Tiwari has made it a habit to abuse Mr. Narendra Modi whenever get a chance and he had gone to the extent of calling Mr. Modi "Adam Khore". I wish his government at the center manage and conduct an event of this magnitude (Vibrant Gujarat summit) first and then try to estimate the capability of someone else. It is ability to practice what he preaches that make Mr.Narendra Modi different from other politicians. What the country need is a leader with farsighted vision and willingness and capability to fulfill that. No wonder those who manage big institutions praise Mr. Modi. I hope India will be lucky enough to have Mr. Narendra Modi as it's next Prime Minister

Fe Comment by Valluri Santosh on 13 Jan 2013

The UPA is not able to guage the anger and frustration of the Aam Aadmi and Corporate India. The good work done by the Modi govt earned them the victory at the hustlings. The frustration will find its way to the ballot box in 2014 or maybe ealier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fe Comment by KIRAN KUMAR on 13 Jan 2013

MODI IS A VISIONARY There is a difference between HITLER and MODI. HITLER was leading by WHITE SUPREMACIST AGENDA. MODI is creating a YOUTH vision. CONGRESS is bankrupt and decayed with corruption. 64 years of NEHRU/GANDHI dynasty you still have masses on poverty. DALITS dont have much say.

Fe Comment by deepak on 13 Jan 2013

Manish Tiwari seems to have a pathological disgust for everything associated with Gujarat. He cannot reconcile himself to the voice of successive electoral verdicts. The comparison with Nazi Germany is misplaced. Once he came to power, he did not restest his electoral verdict! Manish Tiwari's utterenaces represent Congress brainwashing at its best. now that he is not a party spokesman, but a union minister, perhaps he shoule think before he talks.
