Seeking yet another term, Modi also sought to put CBI in the dock by alleging that the Congress was contesting the polls along with the investigating agency.
Giving signals that he would fight the upcoming polls on the plank of “injustice meted out to Gujarat”, Modi appealed to the people to work towards 'Congress-free Gujarat' on the lines of 'gutkha-free Gujarat' to wipe out “cancer”.
Addressing a gathering near Becharaji on the first day of his month-long Vivekanand Yuva Vikas Yatra, Modi said the Congress has the habit of targeting constitutional authorities by creating an atmosphere of anger against those who do not toe its line.
The Prime Minister and the Congress are doing the same to the CAG what late Indira Gandhi used to do, he alleged.
He said on the 2G issue, Congress leaders had adopted a similar stance towards the Supreme Court. Now, the CAG's credibility is being questioned by the Prime Minister and his colleagues.
The Gujarat chief minister also utilised the occasion to ridicule state Congress leaders for their pleas to the people to oppose him during his yatra.
“Are you so scared that you won't listen to my voice. Do you want Sonia Gandhi and the Prime Minister to face similar opposition when they come here,” he said.
He said in a democracy everyone had a right to place his or her views. Taking a dig at local Congress leaders, he said his government would extend all possible support for them to place their views before public.
Blaming the UPA government for the economic situation, he said the Prime Minister should follow the Gujarat model of development.

New Delhi: Reacting sharply to Narendra Modi's barbs on the government over coal controversy, Congress today sought to turn the table on the Gujarat Chief Minister by reminding him of the graft allegations made against his government recently.
"On June 19 this year, a delegation of Congress MPs had met the Chief Vigilance Commissioner and submitted him a 750-page document of 17 scams estimated to be of worth Rs 1.17 lakh crore in Gujarat.
"I want to ask the Gujarat Chief Minister whether he is ready for SIT probe in these allegations. Is is this Gujarat model, which he is boasting of," party spokesperson Manish Tewari told reporters.
Tewari's comments came in response to media queries on Modi's remarks in Mehsana where he asked the Prime Minister to face a SIT probe in the coal block allocation controversy.
Blaming the UPA government for the current economic situation, Modi earlier said the Prime Minister should follow the Gujarat model of development.
The Gujarat chief minister also accused Congress of "misusing" the CBI to target him.
At the AICC briefing, Tewari also reminded Modi of the post-Godhra riots saying, "he is the same Chief Minister about whom the Supreme Court was compelled to comment that Nero was fiddling when Rome burnt."
"There is one real Gujarat, which people of the state are bearing with. There is another, which is a falsehood that the Gujarat Chief Minister and the BJP are serving to people.
"Had everything been so good in Gujarat, why former BJP Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel would have been opposing Modi?
Patel says that there is dictatorship in Gujarat and nobody can air his views freely there," Tewari said.
To a question on whether Rahul Gandhi will campaign in Gujarat like in Uttar Pradesh, Tewari said election in every state is fought on the basis of local issues and all senior leaders, who are given the responsibility to campaign there, will do it.
"Gujarat Congress is ready for the electoral fight in the state. This imaginary picture is being projected by Modi just to hide his shortcomings," he said.
Shri H.R.Bhardwaj, Governor, has tried to defend Robert Vadra. Whole team of central ministers are already doing it and now the Governors have entered the fray. Let us see who next?
For the last several years, Modi has been successful in projecting his "vibrant Gujarat" as a role model of economic growth and himself as ''Vikas Purush". Though one must give due credit to Modi for his effective skills in making projections, one must also critically analyse this "growth story of Gujarat" based on facts and figures. Regretfully, as one examines the facts since Modi came to power in Gujarat in 2001, the story appears to be hollow and, at times, contrary to what is being projected.

The Congress must not be permitted to bring it's sycophantic, venal and corrupt culture into Gujarat. No way must the Gandhi family be allowed to place it's lackey there as a Chief Minister whoes primary task will be as a fund collector and not as a preserver of the rapid progress made in Gujarat in the last 10 years and neither as an enabler to further build on those gains. He will answer to the family and not to the people of Gujarat. The people of Gujarat just have to look at the state next door- Maharashtra- to get an idea of the paralysis and corruption afflicting governance of that state under a Congress chief minister. Or look at the central government for that matter. On communal issues, the Congress is no less divisive than any other party and some of the bloodiest communal riots have occured under it's watch in Delhi, UP, Bihar, Andhra Maharashtra and even Gujarat. We need no sermons from the Congress on communal harmony; Delhi 1984 is not so much in the distant past.
Instead of Congress and gutkha, Modi will be better off if he wipes his conscience clean and apologises for the massacre of hundreds of Muslims during Gujarat riots. Perhaps it will give some succour to their families. Even if proof of his involvement in the state pogram doesn't exist in the classical sense of the term, he cannot absolve himself of what happened. If India loses a match, everybody calls for the skipper's head. As captain and, in this case chief minister, Modi should accept responsibility and step down. In any case the day is not far when he will be sharing space with his cronies like Babu Bajrangi and hopefully very soon, Amit Shah.
This is not to condone riots in Gujarat, but to put things in perspective. People like you can think only in terms of confined Muslim interests, not as a society as a whole. In Gujarat episode of 2002, 800 Muslims AND 300 Hindus died, including Godhara incidence. So, it can be inferred that elements from not only one community, but from both communities indulged in violence. Please try to think in larger interest of nation.

Why don't you ask your community members to apologize for killing 50 kar sevaks in sabarmati express? after 65 years of independence, living like obligate parasites in the society, enjoying everything (which you cannot afford to have it in countries which are created in the name of Islam), every benefits on tax payers money, traitors like you will always try to create fissures in the society in the name of religion.
Religious sentiments should be kept out for development of India. Tamilians killed in SriLanka are not treated as Indians whereas in USA Sikhs killed are treated as Indians. What a great country India is?
