While the Kerala Police has reported to the High Court that they had indications that Muslim youths were trying to convert girls to Islam after pretending to fall in love with them, Karnataka Home Minister V S Acharya announced on Thursday that he would soon be calling a meeting of senior police officials on the issue which he said “looks serious”. He was reacting to a High Court division bench directive on October 21 to the Karnataka Police, in the course of a habeas corpus petition, to probe allegations of the existence of a “love jihad” movement.
In Thiruvananthapuram, DGP Jacob Punnoose submitted the report to the High Court, which last month had asked the police to probe the reported attempt of Muslim youths to convert Hindu and Christian girls to Islam. Justice K T Sankaran made the directive while rejecting the bail applications of youths, who had allegedly trapped two girls for conversion.
The report said the police have come across such conversion attempts in many parts of the state. The forces behind the move are suspected to be getting financial support from abroad. However, the DGP said though there were reports regarding forcible conversions, no parent has come forward to file a complaint. The report has also promised strong action against forcible conversions.
In Karnataka, meanwhile, the High Court division bench in the course of a hearing into a habeas corpus petition, filed by C Selvaraj, the father of a girl Silja Raj, who converted to Islam and began staying at a madrasa with the intention of marrying a man from Kerala, Azghar, was told by Selvaraj’s advocate that the case was an instance of “love jihad”.
Based on the submissions, the High Court Bench asked the police to investigate the matter and look into the Kerala High Court order. While the petitioner’s daughter told the open court that no one had forced her to convert to Islam, the court was not convinced
“We have serious suspicion regarding the statements of the petitioner’s daughter and the case has ramifications for national security. It has raised questions of unlawful trafficking of girls and women in the state. So it has to be investigated by the police,” the court said.
A staunch hindu can never find fault with the decision of a hindu girl to marry a person belongs to islam/christianity since hinduism fundamentally accepts the faith of every religion. it teaches us the noble concept of sarwa dharma sama bhava.
It has worked the other way for me. A woman who followed islam and is Turkish is now engaged to me, I grew up in a Christian household and myself follow christianity. of course, she made the decision on her own to convert to christianity, so we can wed.

The Karnataka Home Minister's goons attacked the Christians over conversions. Since the goons are quiet, it appears that they have not the guts to attack the Muslims over conversions.

Part One:Indian constitution allows and legalises inter-caste and inter-religious marriages aiming at greater integration or secularism, Indian express’s insinuating reporting under the dubiously suggestive heading Love Jihad is mischievous and unfair to Muslim minorities. The so called Love Jihad can be equally called Love Azadi. In the case in Kerala,(your story) both the Hindu girls appeared in the court wearing traditional Muslim Burqa. These girls would have easily told the judge that they had been undergone forced conversion. But instead they asserted that they are convinced converts.Forced conversion worked when the Spaniads forced Christianity in 1850s on the entire Philippine population except in the case of Moros of Philippines, but it will never ever work in 21st century. Converting to American liberalism has a far better chance in India.
The comments are misleading.Why the conversion is only a one way traffic.When oil money is used to fraudulenly convert Hindu girls every one should get alarmed.Kerala DGP has already confirmed the existance of 'Love Jihad'.Hindus gave secularism to this couintry and they are opaying for it.
The conversion is NOT ONE WAY traffic. Ask the Indian Govt to take a survey of the Inter-Religious marriages, there are several thousand Muslim girls who had married Hindus and follow Hindu tradition (read my second part). In South India we have the wives of many film actors such as Prabhu Deva, Sundar has married Khusboo, she was born a Muslim but has become a Hindu in her attitude and behaviour, and in the same way there are many Muslim boys who have decided not to follow Islam but throw religion out to please their Hindu wives. It is double way traffic. One thing (the most undesirable) that our boys and girls are copying fast from the West is their despicable premarital sex pattern and falling in love indiscriminately. Heaven knows where it will lead to, but faithful followers of both Hinduism and Islam are terribly displeased about this trend simply because instead of positive integration, this may lead to negative mud slinging and animosity between peaceful communities. The nation is one no doubt, but there are cultural differences between religious communities which I think it is better to respect in order to bring a more peaceful social life.
Part Two:These sort of inter-religious marriages (several thousands a year) take place both ways throughout India. There had been thousands of Muslim boys and girls who have taken Hindu spouses without any change in religion and Vice-Versa. In my little town, I have seen four such marriages.In the glamorous cine world, this is too common( Prabu Deva Sundaram’s wife was a born Muslim, Abdullah S. Khan’s sister Khusboo, a top ranking South Indian actress, is married to Sunder( A Hindu), Shahrukhan’s wife Gawri Chibber is a Hindu lady, Aamir Khans wives Reena Dutt and Kiran Rao. Are they Muslims or Hindus? Quite often Namke Vaste Azadis, free thinkers of some sort, marriage of conveniences, such couple are more unreliable in terms of even patriotism. Sikandar Bokht a prominanet leader of Congres, former Union cabinet Minister and later a leading BJP stalwart even though he was born a Muslim, he married a Hindu lady and his sons have Hindu names.

It is not sufficient to find fault with only"love jihad" activists.The Congress as well as its sponsored Media are also equally responsible.Their approach/reporting differs from this issue to that for any Hindu-interest organisation.Even some Media is partial in giving space to news/opinions.Offering of the enticing projects only to minorities and not to every deserving one and misinterpreting such episodes just for vote bank are all contributing to such activities.
Now that the issue is open and clear, let the Indians stop talking wrongly about Ram sena, VHP etc.. atleast they did not forcibly convert people and making attempts to prevent such things from happening. Muslim fundamentalism was the cause for division of India earlier. Both Islam and Christian communities convert poor people covertly in the name of helping them or other means.It should be totally banned to convert people.As such those who got converted into different religions have not achieved anything superior other than taking money or involving in mischevous activities.It is time to think seriously to prevent anyorm of religious conversions.Bharat mata ki jai

I have been writing in my posts that only few years back Malaysia and Indonesia were not Islamic countries but the moment the population exceeded 50% they declared themseles an Islamic nation. In India this effort is going on for last more than 1000 years by Islamic and Christian fanatics but if they have not succeeded in their attempts is because of deep rooted Hindu values in the society. Their intolerance is so high that any organisation that speaks for Hindus is their sworn enemy. A little research will show that most converts to islam in the west are women. Married or unmarried. I am concerned with the incidence that when the "victim" states that no one forced her. The court does not belive her.
