New Delhi Nikhi Advani's 'Delhi Safari', which is in consideration for Best Animated Feature Oscar with 20 other films, says he made the film for his six-year-old daughter.

The director has been behind relationship dramas like 'Kal Ho Naa Ho', 'Salaam-e-Ishq' and 'Patiala House'.

When asked whether it was a risk to shift to animation from mainstream filmmaking, Nikhil said, "Actually, I made this film for my six-year-old daughter. She could not see any of my previous films so it is dedicated to her and she loves it."

Advani hopes that the film's success will encourage others to put their money on animation projects.

The Academy unveiled the list of the animation movie moving for the voting round recently with 'Delhi Safari' and another Indian film 'Hey Krishna' featuring in it.

The other films include big studio releases like 'Frankenweenie', 'Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted', 'Brave', 'Hotel Transylvania' and 'Ice Age Continental Drift'

among others.

It will be known only on January 10 whether 'Delhi Safari' and 'Hey Krishna' move forward or not.

But Advani is happy with the film's progress so far. The producers are working on the mandatory LA screening of the movie.

Advani is currently shooting for his next film 'D-Day' with Arjun Rampal in Ahmedabad.
