Mamta is a nut,but she probably turned paranoid serving in the congress where chamchas/dynasties rule the roost(So long as no one challenges the leading dynasty).A hard working and dedicated party worker is supposed to live off crumbs from the high table. Mamta wanted more as was her right, but it was not to be.Pranab was the head wheeler dealer in the system(bagman for the party and a horde of blackmoney kingpins).The clash was in evitable, Mamta is now paying back in the same coin and Pranab is sweating.Incidentially, Pranab too grew too big for his boots at one point of time, and hence is not trusted by the dynasty to be PM. He is in his position not because of competence but due to intimate knowledge of all shady dealings of the Gandhis and their ink in other parties.He cant be kicked out lest he squeal and let the cat out of the bag.Mamtas revenge is to deny him the post of first citizen and let him stew as second fiddle to manmohan, sweet revenge of a woman scorned.

The regional parties are back at it again. Posturing in public but driving a hard bargain with the centre for their personal and party interests in private. It is high time and in the interests of the country that Congress and BJP get together and call their bluff. For the presidential candidates Congress and BJP should join hands and decide on Pranab or Abdul kalam as President and Jaswant as Vice President. This will be in the country's interest and send a clear signal to regional chiefs that blackmail is not acceptable.Congress should forget their arrogance and the nonsense of secular forces joining together slogan and BJP should start behaving as a national party and not just oppose anything congress does.
