Sacred People by CK Raju, Thrissur on 31 Oct 2012

Till now people are forbidden from criticising sacred documents - in the religious domain. This is a new development, whereby certain humans are to be treated as sacred - so that they are above criticism. Pray, what world are we moving to ?

Karti Chimdambaram takes man to jail for Tweets by Bahu Virupaksha on 31 Oct 2012

I think the flood of scandals gushing through the Congress Psrty and the impending verdict on the Sivagangai Parliamentary Election is causing a lot of anguish. I think it is highly authoritarian to drag someone to jail for a personal opinion. These Tamil politicians are all alike. They have no tolerance for dissent. Karunanidhi and Jayalalitha routinely book critics under defamation laws as if the criminals in politics can be defamed.

Arrogance by C2 on 31 Oct 2012

This is arrogance at its best, misuse of power at its worst and violation of one's fundamental rights at its height. The arrest is to send a message to one and all that the PC family will not tolerate any criticism. Next, be sure that the IT, Excise, Service Tax and Banks will be after this guy. The police officer who arrested him should be suspended, sent to jail for treating an individual's complaint into a criminal offence and delivering justice. People should protest unitedly at the state rowdyism on display, the vulgar expose of arrogance by Karti and the distasteful display of power by the official. It is high time that the ownership of Vasan chain of hospitals and medical shops is investigated. The attitude of politicians to silence the common man should be condemnded - Karti should be treated as a Goonda and arrested under the Goondas' Act.
