Manish Tewari pokes fun at BJP over bid to project Narendra Modi as PM candidate

New Delhi Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari on Tuesday poked fun at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the infighting within its fold on Narendra Modi being projected as the Prime Ministerial candidate, saying 2014 is far off and Delhi is even farther for the main opposition party.

"As far as the Bharatiya Janata Party is concerned, Atal Bihari Vajpayeeji was their Prime Ministerial candidate in 2004 and the BJP lost. Advaniji was their Prime Ministerial candidate in 2009 and again the BJP lost. And now, 2014 is far off and for BJP Delhi is even farther," he told the media here.

The infighting within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has gained momentum after senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha openly pitched for declaring Modi as the BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate, saying it will benefit the party in a big way.

Sinha yesterday said there is a strong demand from the common people and workers that Narendra Modi should be declared as the Prime Ministerial candidate.

"Wherever I go, the party workers and common people demand that Modi should be BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate, and now I too think that it will benefit the party a lot. But, it is up to the party leadership to decide on the issue," he said.

Disapproving Sinha's bid to project Narendra Modi as the BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate, Janata Dal-United (JD-U) chief Sharad Yadav yesterday said that alliances are formed with 'great difficulty'.

"Alliances are formed with great difficulty and BJP leader Yashwant Sinha's statement is uncalled for in the context of alliances," said Yadav, who is also convenor of the BJP-led NDA.

Sinha's comments for projecting Modi as the Prime Ministerial candidate came a day after the Gujarat Chief Minister held a two-hour long discussion with BJP President Rajnath Singh.

Modi met the new BJP President earlier on Sunday and the duo discussed the future course of action regarding the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

Manish Tewari pokes fun at BJP over bid to project Narendra Modi as PM candidate by Monish Tawdy on 29 Jan 2013

Of course, he can poke fun as he can only see the sun shining out of the dynastic butts. Otherwise, he is deaf, dumb and blind.

Don't Give Much Importance to Sycophants by Tapori Indian on 29 Jan 2013

What can you expect from sycophants like Manish Tiwari? Their entire career is spent on begging and buttering. He should know why BJP lost in 2004(the margin between Congress and BJP was just 2%, Whereas in the previous Parliament Elections Congress Got (% less votes than BJP. BJP lost mainly due to its allies AIADMK and TDP, to which it alloted a fair number of seats...and they could not perform. And people quite well know about the IQ and ability of Rahul Baba & Modi. Tiwari quite well know he will never be able to rise beyond a certain level in Party in spite ..excessive kowtowing and buttering.

Its a challenge for BJP to project Mr. Modi as PM before 2014, if he is so popular, everyone wants him, even some greedy businessmen compares him to our Father of Nation, whats there for BJP to think. They should have declared him by now.
