Chandigarh A day after Haryana Police chief R S Dalal announced new measures to curb crimes against women, CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda Friday announced a helpline for women.

The state also posted senior officer K Selvaraj as Additional DGP (Crime Against Women) and urged the Punjab and Haryana HC for speedy trial of cases against women, especially cases of rape.

Under the new measures, district police chiefs have been told to submit weekly reports on crimes against women, which will then be compiled and sent to the Home Secretary. An ADGP will visit all districts to ensure effective monitoring of investigation and prosecutions in such cases.
