During an interaction with a visiting India media delegation here, Foreign Office spokesperson Abdul Basit was asked as to why Islamabad was dragging its feet on taking action against Saeed despite India providing numerous dossiers, which nails his direct involvement in the Mumbai carnage.
“I don’t hold brief for Hafiz Saeed. We arrested him. Have you arrested Bal Thackeray for making hate speeches against Pakistan,” Basit replied.
Commenting on India’s consistent claims that the groups like the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were still running terror training camps inside Pakistan’s boundary, he said Islamabad is ready to take on those camps if exact information is shared with it.
Basit reiterated Islamabad’s demand for re-starting the stalled composite dialogue with India, saying such talks had proved to be of great help in building confidence between the two neighbouring countries.
“It helped us sign prior notification of missile trials, it helped us in ceasefire and to agree on confidence building measures on Kashmir. It created a congenial atmosphere as well,” the spokesperson said.
Basit also pointed out that disputes like Siachen could not be settled unilaterally.
“We had made enormous progress on Siachen and Sir Creek. These issues can be handled quickly if the dialogue is resumed,” he said.
He also objected to India’s hardened stance on the resumption of the composite dialogue, saying its better not to engage in any form of deliberation than to add ‘pre-conditions’ to composite talks.
Basit also condemned India for labelling happenings in Kashmir as a ‘terrorist struggle’, and said Pakistan would never accept those claims.
D)VOTING SHOULD BE AN IMPORTENT NATIONAL DUTY RATHER THAN RIGHT :- Like in other countries, voting should be made compulsory. We have driven away the British rulers in the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi , with the weapon of agitations and sacrifice of so many people of our previous generations. Is it not our front line duty to elect proper government to run the country for appropriate progress . In so many constituencies nearly 50% voters keep themselves aloof from elections . It is so because they do not think that proper candidate is in the list of candidates. That is why if the voting is to be made compulsory we have to provide them the easy facility to show their displeasure for the candidates seeking election. Presently this facility is made available but the system do not provide them required privacy . So while making the voting compulsory separate space should be provided to give negative - voting. Basit is a true to his country's mind set. He should realise that pakistan is criticised not only by Bal Thakerey but by all right thinking people accross the world. By his standards USA should demand that the leftists should be arrested and put behind bars for their anti US stand and utterences. The Pakistasni diplomat knows full-well that Saeed Hafiz is wanted for sending 12 Pakistani terrorists to Mumbai to slaughter hundreds of Indians, not for hate speeches against India. This comparison is ridiculously laughable. I don't recall any Shiv Sainiks sailing to Karachi and killing innocent Pakistanis. In any case the Pakistanis are doing a much better job at generating ill feelings towards themselves not just from Indians but from the global community as a whole. Na-Pak Foreign Office spokesperson Abdul Basit is mad? or one of the Terrorist. He is comparing amaat-ud-Daawa (JuD) chief Hafeez Muhammad Saeed with Thakare. Thakare is not sent any one to kill any one in Pak. Pak dont have any one with Brien ho can understand the issue & speak.
Thakare has done some good and some bad jobs through his lifeline. Neither I favor him nor is he in my favorite list. Thakre is million time better person then saeed. But only "DUMB" people can give this analogy and Pakistan is "DUMB" and nobody can change them. They live by their false interpretation of religion and they will die by it. So let them die. Well if this is how a diplomat from Pakistan speaks.. then we should reply back in the same tone and not try and be too diplomatic.. he should be asked to cram up his advice up his a** and shut up about any reference to Kashmir.. we don't care what Pakistan will accept or not... we know what the truth is and so does the world.. if he states the chaos in Kashmir is not terrorism, well then he is no different from Hafiz Saeed, i guess his ideologue.. reason enough to arrest him and give some sweet Indian hospitality...

India should not talk to Pakistan and remove their diplomatic officed from Pakistan. India should eliminate Pakistani terror herself.
