Sena keeps IPL doors closed for Pak

Mumbai BCCI has got the government’s nod for a series with Pakistan in December, but the participation of Pakistani players in next year’s IPL still looks unlikely.

This, BCCI sources said, is because two IPL teams — Mumbai and Pune — are based in Maharashtra, where the Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena have opposed cricketing contact with Pakistan. Sena chief Bal Thackeray on Monday repeated his call to “staunch Hindus and the patriotic public” to not allow Indo-Pak cricket matches in India.

A BCCI panel comprising Rajeev Shukla, Ratnakar Shetty and IPL CEO Sundar Raman met home ministry officials recently to finalise the itinerary for the ODI and T20 series against Pakistan. A key point of discussion was ensuring that matches were staged at venues less prone to disruptions from the Sena.

The IPL governing council meets on November 21, when a final decision on whether to include Pakistanis in the IPL auction list could be taken.

Congress is a banana party by Freddie on 07 Nov 2012

Congress is a supporter of Muslim terrorist to kill indian. Congress want Muslim to kill indian so that they can come to power. Why is congress always compare indian economic with Pakistan. A small country like Pakistan is telling a honing to be super power country what to do.

Why is that our politicians so attached/concerned with pakistan, who want to see Indian in 1000 pcs?! All politicians, majority from Congress and maybe with only exclusion of Shiv Sena, keep seeking friendship with pakis every now and then. If they are so concerned with paki friendship, as an Indian, I would suggest those people should settle in pakistan instead of staying put in India. You may remember, one of the great hindi filmstars saying that he feels ashamed for not including paki players in IPL auctions some time back?! For including paki players in IPL and any other tournament, we should precondition it with "Arrest and handover 28/11 culprints and other Indian Borne underworld dons (Dawood and co) settled in pak" before we speak of friendship and friendly matches.

It is unfortunate that the Congress Govt.is still sleeping and have not learnt lesson from Bomb blasts carried out by our enemy nation. Selfish Netas have not lost their relatives or friends in the bomb blasts or from the attacks by them.
