Swaraj said there is anger and outrage in the BJP condolence meet.
"The girl, who had no relations with me, became my own daughter after this incident. She became the daughter of the entire country. I frequently think as to what was her fault. What crime did she commit? For what did she get punished? After analysing, I find that her only crime was that her body was that of a girl. She was born as a girl so she became the prey to the beast," Swaraj told the gathering at the BJP headquarters here.
Swaraj alleged that the criminals move around fearless in the national capital, and added that they have no fear of the Delhi Police for the two are hand-in-glove with each other.
"She came to a city where the criminals are not afraid of the police. This is not one incident; such incidents keep on happening almost every day. Cases of rape in a moving bus are evident of the fact that criminals in this city do not have any fear of the police. A gentleman fears before going to the police station, but a goon enters the police station with his shirt button open and a scarf in his hand," said Swaraj.
"Buses have today become a den of crime because none of the private buses ply on the road without give and take. Every private bus has a give and take relationship with the police," she added.
Expressing extreme disappointment over the entire handling of the situation by those in power, Swaraj further said the girl is no more, but added that she has wakened the nation''s soul.
Swaraj, who is the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, reiterated the BJP''s demand for a Special Session of Parliament.
"I had called up the Prime Minister on the very first day and demanded that a Special Session of Parliament be called. The Home Minister rejected my demand. I called up the Home Minister the very next day and requested him to call an all-party meeting. He even rejected that demand by the evening," said Swaraj.
"Neither do they want to sit together nor do they want to call a Special Session of Parliament, but they are ready for drama," she added.
Swaraj also lashed out at the Congress-led UPA Government for cremating the victim''s body early on Sunday morning.

Amid outpouring of anger and grief in the country, the gang rape victim''s body was flown to New Delhi from Singapore early on Sunday morning and cremated within hours. The cremation took place under a dense cover of fog.
The girl, a physiotherapy student, was gang raped and brutally assaulted allegedly by six men in a moving bus in South Delhi on the night of December 16.
The government, which is under sharp criticism from the opposition parties and the people of the country over the gang-rape incident, has set up a Commission of Inquiry to identify lapses and fix responsibility for the December 16 case and also constituted a committee of jurists for reviewing the existing laws to provide speedier justice and enhanced punishment in cases of sexual assault.
The message that 'Main Baratkari Hoon ' must be written permanently on the rapist forehead by troffing.The doctor also be punished,if he helps to remove this message by plastic surgery.So he will get shame in social life & all the persons will hate him.
Let all the politicians hang their head in shame, and try to focus on the issue and find practical solution for all such problems.
What they think that rapes only happen in India ? It is all over the world. The thing is that. The incident is not comparable able to any thing. culprits must hang till death including 6th one.
The BJP has many rapists and criminals in their midst. I don't recall Delhi being safe when BJP was running the state. Shushmaji and other politicians should personally experience more grief and crime. I hope politicians and their children and relatives are victims of rape and murder in 2013.
Sushma all this is happening because you are the Politicians who takes Bribe, corruptions, etc. Instead of running and looking after the country and its public the Politicians take care more of the Business like Walmart etc. etc.Ruling party take 3/4 and oppositions take 1/4. Now the case is front of you why it take long it should have finished maximum within a week time. Indian laws are worst not even poor. Its a big ashmed that we in India has such typical type of Politician all the world are recognizing and laughing on us and on our leaders as well. What respect theywill have for the Indian who is abroad. Poor respect.

Dear Sushma Madam why can't you take this opportunity and throw out the members of BJP who are involved in corruption/crimes against women either before OR after being elected to set as an example for other parties including Congress. Why can't your party take up this issue and cleanse your party also. Why can't you dismiss the MLAs who were watching pornographic photos in Karnataka assembly

I respect the sentiment of Mrs Sushma Sawraj being a woman but her statement the girl born in India being a indian she should not say like this. Our society still respect the women compare to other country.Respect Bharat mata please dont go of few criminals.The private Bus operator yes it is give and take policy with police. The Delhi police should check the few people travelling with bus like cleaner helper ..etc. The strict guidlines should be issued and owner of the bus must be equally blamed for any incident.The staff ie driver cleaner helper should checked frequently and not be in drunken state. The long route private Buses should be in strict observation.Travelling in long run bus is my own horrible experience.
Sushma Swaraj Delhi students is blaming all political parties who are responsible for these incidents which keeps on occuring frequently at least once in a day.
The delhi police is more busy in protecting their political masters. This connection gives them liberty to leave citizens at anybody's mercy. Now see what happened to this poor girl.
So many rape stories are unfolding in the wake of the gang-rape and murder of the 23 year-old physiotherapy student in a bus with darkened and curtained windows. It is alleged that the police knew about this bus and its criminal use - the police are also in collusion with many other such criminal groups, and this collusion goes back years. It is absolutely impossible that such a demonic situation has escaped the attention of the central government or state govt. Internationally, this gives a horrific reflection of the Indian govt and all the state authorities across India. If India is to survive as a nation, the first and foremost need is drastic overhaul and revamp of its dasdardly and morally bankrupt leadership.
When a robbery is committed, it may not be possible to avert or catch the robbers red handed by the police then and there. But, when buses/cars have tainted glass windows, the vehicles have to pass through hundreds of traffic intersections. So, there is no excuse for the cops at the first or the second road junction to have booked the erring vehicles on the very first day of plying. Decision to ban tainted glasses were taken years ago in Delhi. Unless the cops were hand-in-glove with the law-breakers, there would have been no vehicles with tainted glasses on the roads. Had these rules banning tainted glasses been enforced, the unfortunate incident in Delhi may not have happened. The responsibility for failing to enforce law is ultimately clearly that of the police commissioner and the home minister, under whom the Delhi police functions. There is no dearth of laws in India. What is lacking is its honest and sincere implementation, without corruption angle.
Why think that way !!!! Say, punish vigorously parents or relatives of culprits too !!!!!!!! Only Jail !!!!!!!!! This definitely help bring crime graff down !!!!!!!
Countless such tragic cases took place in our country and hapless victims either died, committed suicide or became mere vegetables. At least this time people took to the streets enmasse against the Government and Police apathy. Media and the politicians are trying their best to get maximum mileage out of this tragedy.It's better politicians are kept out of this people's movement.
I hope the current sentiments DO NOT fade out and life goes back to normalcy and this becomes another event in history. Amendment in Laws need to incorporate highest possible punishment/ sentences for such barbaric acts, be it involving an individual or a gang. It's reached a stage where homo sapiens have taken the role of animals - in fact even worse than animals. I hope the panel of jurists do come out with very effective amendments in the legal framework. It's also a case in point for each one of us involved in a mad rush for survival of the fittest to pause and think: What kind of a world are we leaving for our children? With advances in technology, education, society , are we showing any improvements or are we going back in time (barbarianism) and losing morality? Apart from the amendments to the legal framework, what else needs to be done to ensure a safe, secure and healthy environment? The sooner we act on above the better as more cases have been reported of late.
While she conviniently forgets india is the way it is because of the same ideology she propagates. Why we see more uncivilized society wherever hindusim is strong? All the north india especially delhi, haryana noida region? As the same ideology is getting stronger in south the same kind of crimes we are on rise in maharashtra and Karnataka? Hindusim is the root cause of every social issue that india has.
Public have already forgotten Ms SUKANYA DEVI case. Even the court is hopeless in cases like SUKANYA DEVI, where investigation agency/police did not show any courage to arrest and question the alledged accused. Hence prosecution failed to present an iota of evidence against the alledged accused. In the current system of collusion between police/politicians the high profile alleged criminals will always roam scott free.
As per madam sushama, rapes were happened only in delhi or in congress ruled states. this is pure drama. this is not only the political issue but social issue.
INDIA MUST BAN DEATH PENALTY. We killed enough around the world. Be wise, you people of India! Keep as wise as possible, no revanche, no hatred. Many countries have ban death penalty, join them! Yes, rape and death are horrors, but a State should not be governend by fears, hatred but rather by all the wiseness your old traditions may permit.
