“On one hand we are trying to bring peace. We are also taking steps against injustice towards minorities as also against infiltration. But, in the midst of all this, we have got an investigation report that be it the RSS or BJP, their training camps are promoting Hindu terrorism. We are keeping a strict vigil on all this,” Shinde said at the AICC session during the Chintan Shivir in Jaipur.
He talked about the Samjhauta Express, Mecca Masjid and the Malegaon blasts, in which involvement of right-wing extremists is suspected. “We will have to think about it seriously and will have to remain alert,” he said.
Attacking Shinde, BJP spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told reporters in Delhi, “Their (Congress’s) destructive mindset is reflected in the statement of the Home Minister. The statement is very objectionable. It’s not only unacceptable but also dangerous.”
It was aimed at disrupting peace and harmony, he added.
The BJP also demanded an immediate apology from the Congress leadership. “Sonia Gandhi should apologise. Rahul Gandhi and Home Minister should also apologise, otherwise there will be serious consequences... Such baseless things when said by the Home Minister amount to giving a clean chit to real terrorists,” Naqvi said. “Home Minister must apologise to the nation for his comments”, Sushma Swaraj tweeted.
Accusing the Congress of being silent to terror strikes from across the border while castigating a “nationalist organisation” like the RSS, Naqvi added: “Sometimes I feel the Congress has become a kayaron ki jamaat (group of cowards).”
Attacked by the BJP, Shinde stuck to his guns. “This is saffron terrorism that I have talked about. It is the same thing and nothing new. It has come in the media several times,” he said.
Several Congress leaders too defended Shinde. Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh said, “It is not Hindu terrorism but Sangh-backed terrorism.”
“I am 100 per cent with Shinde on this. This isn’t a secret. I want to thank the Home Minister for saying what everyone knows but does not have the courage to say,” party leader Mani Shankar Aiyar said. “He (Shinde) meant right-wing terrorism. There is no Hindu or Muslim terrorism,” added Union Minister Rajiv Shukla.
RSS spokesperson Ram Madhav called Shinde’s remarks “highly irresponsible” and made only to please his party bosses. “If a Congress leader had said something like this, it wouldn’t have mattered that much. But if the Home Minister of the country is saying something like this, it is highly irresponsible. This is all about playing votebank politics.”
BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar described Shinde’s remarks as the “most irresponsible” ever made by any home minister of the country. “P Chidambaram used the term saffron terrorism and Shinde has gone a step further,” he said.
He said the statement reflected the “communal and vote bank politics” of the Congress. “One cannot equate terrorism with one religion,” he said.
In his speech, Shinde also listed infiltration from Pakistan, insurgency in the Northeast and Naxalism as the main challenges before the country. “Infiltration is from Pakistan, insurgency is in some states in the Northeast and Naxalism is another challenge. Environment is being created against peace but my department will do its complete work,” he said.
shinde has not only lost his mental balance but has come down to his aukat. he is ...... and hence his mind is shoodra. Who did terrorist activities at Indiagate during public demonstration. It was Delhi police who lathi charged, tear gased and shed water cannon on peaceful indians, the owner of this country. shinde is a terrorist who exercised all ill tactics to crush the peaceful demonstration. He has to pay for it. He is mentally bankrupt. Public will set him right and bring his mind to track but he will not have power then.
Shinde is fully correct. I do not know why he has not said that the recent beheading of Jawan is the handiwork of hindu terror groups and that we are unnecessarily blaming Pakistan. He can MANUFACTURE proofs to substantiate his statement and he has a sidekick in Digvijaya,
So this is the outcome of "Chintan Shivir", how to stop distract the nation from the ongoing corruption scandals by Congress. I am not saying BJP is completely clean party but doing political trail of any organization is not right, book the case against RSS or BJP is they are involved in it & let SC or HC to decide what is the outcome. There is no need for Shinde to apologize. Saffron terror is a fact. The so called online nationalists should acknowledge this.

The Union Home Minister Mr Sushil Kumar Shinde should seek apology from the R.S.S. and B.J.p. for quoting irresponsible comment that the R.S.S. ,B.J.P. Training Camps are promoting Terror . Really the Word " Terror " has irked the masses and has created an error in the minds of the B.J.P. and R.S.S. Cadre . As no doubt the season of Elections is coming and this type of Statements can be on the record quoted but such type of statements some times create an error and irks the masses also . What is the reason and mission behind his focused vision is better known to the Union Home Minister Mr Sushil Kumar Shinde .Mr Shinde should seek apology for his quoted sensitive comment .
