Mumbai Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray emphasised that the controversy over party chief Bal Thackeray's memorial is unnecessary in his first interview after the Sena supremo's death in Mumbai.

Speaking to the party mouthpiece Saamana, Uddhav said "There has been an unnecessary controversy over the memorial of Balasaheb. Why is that a big issue?"

"I don't want to discuss this right now, and I request everyone not to create any controversy about this right now," he added.

Speaking on issues party, Uddhav claimed no one could replace Bal Thackeray and he will remain the party's supremo.

"Balasaheb showed us the way and Sena will continue fighting for Marathi Manoos and Hindutvavaad," he said.

Uddhav will embark on a Maharashtra Yatra starting on December 3 in western Maharashtra's Kolhapur, where he will meet party workers and elected representatives from local bodies to Parliament.

This will be his first independent attempt to reach out and strengthen his rapport with the Sena's rank and file after Thackeray's death in November.

The legacy by Abhijit Guha on 03 Dec 2012

Uddhav Thackeray has a huge challenge in front of him since for the 1st time he does not have Bal Thackeray to excite Shiv Sena workers. He is in uncharted territory. It remains to be seen whether he has the charisma to lead Shiv Sena from now on & most importantly get the vote of people of Maharashtra.

Something everyone has failed to take note and mention is that ALL HINDU MARATI POLICEMEN OF MAHARASHTRA ARE PRO SS AND MNS.
