Ahmedabad Congress candidate from Maninagar, Shweta Bhatt, today appealed Keshubhai Patel-led Gujarat Parivartan Party to withdraw its candidate from the fray.

Bhatt, the wife of suspended IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt, is contesting the election against Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi from Maninagar.

The constituency is considered to be a BJP stronghold.

"I appeal to all the political parties which oppose BJP to support me in my political battle against the Gujarat Chief Minister... I appeal especially to GPP Chief Keshubhai Patel to withdraw his candidate," Bhatt told reporters.

In her maiden press conference, Bhatt said, "I am confident that Keshubhai will accept my appeal."

"I am not fighting this political battle for myself alone ... I am fighting it on behalf of entire Gujarat, so those who have faith in Indian constitution and democracy... political outfits and individuals should support me," she said.

On being asked if she had a chance against Modi, Bhatt said, "Absolutely. I am going to win this election.

"I am a very new entrant into politics... I have come with a true heart, to speak the truth, and want to do something."

Asked what would be her response if Keshubhai Patel made a counter appeal, Bhatt said, "So far no such appeal has been made from GPP. If it comes, we would see."

Replying to a query about complaint filed in a Lucknow court that her husband violated service rules by accompanying her to file nomination, Bhatt said, "I am an Indian woman and would expect my husband to support me in my endeavours. He came to extend moral support to his wife."

REAL EXPOSE OF CONGRESS by N.ASTI on 03 Dec 2012

This step of Shweta(Read Sanjiv)is now exposing that Sanjiv was working for Congress and not for riot victims. All actions of Sanjiv to defame Modi can now be clearly understood to have been guided/sponsored and financed by Congress.Even 1% doubt that this congress agent might have been present in the meeting(that he claims) is also evaporated and confirms that he bluffed not for Muslims but for Congress. Those who might have soft corner for Keshubhai and thinking to vote for GPP will go to BJP and not Congress as basically this mass is not Pro-Congress.Gujaratis are not foolish Indians who would believe in "LOVE ME AND LOVE MY DOG".Gujarat will never pardon vindictive Congress the way in which it has ruled Gujarat in the past, through communal riots and dividing the State public into worst parts through its INFAMOUS KHAM theory.

Shweta Bhatt wants to fight her battle against Narendra Modi alone by vasoo kamulkar on 03 Dec 2012

The annals of the ancient Indian history are replete with a phenomenon called 'Jayachand Rathod'. The king of Kanauj had introduced Islam to India just to liquidate his own son-in-law, Prithviraj Chauhan, the first Hindu king of Delhi. In Maharashtra Jaychand goes by the names of Sooryaajee Pisaal and Balawantrao Naatoo. The former had sacrificed the capital, the Queen and the Prince of Maharashtra to the Mughals around 1690 CE and the latter had pawned the independence of India by hoisting the Union Jack over Shaniwarwada in Pune, the then capital of Maharashtra and India; in 1802 CE. WE know for sure that Sooryaajee was executed by the Mughals. The voters of Gujarat would certainly show Shweta and Sanjiv Bhatt and their manipulators the Hand Congress, the way out of the Indian politics.
