Silver futures prices firm on global cues

New Delhi Silver prices went up by 0.32 per cent to Rs 59,450 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions, taking positive cues from overseas market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver prices for delivery in May were up by Rs 189, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 59,450 per kg in business turnover of 246 lots.

Similarly, the white metal price for delivery in March traded higher by Rs 172, or 0.30 per cent, to Rs 58,090 per kg in 4,830 lots.

Analysts said, fresh positions created by participants, driven by a firming trend in the global markets have mainly pushed up silver futures.

Globally, silver rose 0.50 per cent to USD 30.49 an ounce in Singapore.
