Skill needed for almost all professions except politics: Narendra Modi

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi said that politics is one profession where no training is required.

Ahmedabad Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi said that politics is one profession where no training is required.

Speaking in a lighter vein after inaugurating a seminar at 'Industry-Responsive Skill Convention' at Gandhinagar, Modi said, "Skill is required for almost all the professions, but you do not need any training for being a politician, the profession in which I am."

"Once a leader told his driver that he himself would drive the car. The driver said, let me get down first. When the leader asked why, the driver said, 'This is a car. Not a government'."

The chief minister expressed his resolve to promote skill development of youth through public-private-partnership model, to cater to the needs of the industry. Gujarat's ITIs had signed 119 MoU with the industries for various skill development programmes, he said.

The Gujarat government had taken a number of initiatives in this regard including upgradation of ITIs, setting up of 20 superior technology training centres, 1,074 skill development and training courses, etc, he said.

"India will need to adopt the strategy of exploring scope, scale, skill and speed for the youth if we want to compete with China," Modi said.

Modi is just another regional level politician who believes in divide and rule. The entire country knows what happened in Gujarat, Haren Pandya was a good person hence he was eliminated in broad daylight in Ahmedabad. Modi ko bolo shanpatti bandh karen aur amdavad ma garba kaare

For the last several years, Modi has been successful in projecting his "vibrant Gujarat" as a role model of economic growth and himself as ''Vikas Purush". Though one must give due credit to Modi for his effective skills in making projections, one must also critically analyse this "growth story of Gujarat" based on facts and figures. Regretfully, as one examines the facts since Modi came to power in Gujarat in 2001, the story appears to be hollow and, at times, contrary to what is being projected.

rajkot by ketan on 21 Sep 2012

How can Modi and his followers could forget that there is no no development in rural and tribal areas of Gujarat? Modi has hired PR agencies to project himself as man of development and one who can become the PM but the reality on grass root is totally different. Modi has allowed industrialist to loot Gujarat and if he becomes PM, he will let entire world to loot India...

PROFESSION OF POLITIC IN INDIA by Indianglobal on 21 Sep 2012

Politic should not be a profession, but a service to the people of his or her own country. Otherwise, there should have been a minimum qualification for a competent politician, which is not even required in India and there is no limit in Indian political career on which anybody and everybody has the right to do that job without any minimum qualification, age limit and influence or money. So what has laid down in the Indian democracy otherwise, hereafter every damthing of which should be concrete craved in the written constituion of India.

Truth Speaking by Mr.Modi by A K Chattopadhyay on 21 Sep 2012
