Surat woman strangles two kids, hangs self

Surat A 32-year-old woman reportedly strangled her two children before committing suicide by hanging herself at her in-laws’ house in Adajan area of Surat on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Ujali (32) Jinanda (three-and-a half -year-old) and Pintu (four-month-old), police said, adding that her in-laws and husband were not at home when the incident took place.

Adajan police inspector S I Baloch said, “We are trying to find out the reason that made Ujali take such a drastic step. Neighbours told us that the couple was living a happy married life. Pintu was suffering from a heart ailment and his family had spent over Rs 4 lakh on his treatment. We suspect some other reason behind the incident, which we will find out.”
