TMC backs ‘energetic boy’ Arabul for ‘fighting anarchists’

Kolkata Trinamool Congress on Tuesday accused the CPM and the Congress of “creating anarchy in the state”.

Senior party leader Partha Chatterjee defended Arabul Islam, who has been accused of attacking former CPM minister, saying he is an “energetic boy” fighting against anarchist force which is trying to stall the development initiative of the state government.

Chatterjee claimed that Arabul and his other party colleagues were attacked with arms by the CPM today. However, he did not utter a single word on Bamanhata incident in which Trinamool cadres allegedly led by Arabul fired at CPM cadres who were coming to Alipore to attend a party rally.

Asked if Arabul was attacked then who had fired on the CPM cadres, Chatterjee said: “We would like to know first who had attacked Arabul.”

“We have been watching for the last few days that the CPM and Congress together are trying to create anarchy and two news channels are helping them. We would organise rallies between January 10 and 18 throughout the state. On 18 January there will be a big rally in Kolkata on this issue. Having been rejected by the people, the CPM is indulging in violence using arms. We have instructed the administration to find out from where arms are being brought there (at Bhangar),” Chatterjee said.

Another key Trinamool leader and Transport Minister Madan Mitra termed the incident as “spontaneous outburst of public anger”.

CPM people are not saints either by AJITH KRISHNA on 09 Jan 2013

i don't agree with violence in any form not justifying by Trinamool either.. but CPM is not a party of peaceful cadres.. we have many example of CPM cadres killing politicial oponents in Kerala and Bengal in a most organised way..hundreds of political opponents have been killed by CPM in Kerala's Kannur district alone.. in CPM strongholds of Kerala and Bengal other parties are not even allowed to function properly in many panchayats CPM candidates get elected unopposed not based on popular support but muscle power of CPM cadres

Do NOT justify this Dirty acts by Saikat C on 09 Jan 2013

Mr. Ajith, I agree with you. But could you please tell me who is not involved in killing of people for getting political edge? There is none. So, when you protest, you should protest each one in true manner. Do not justify any such act what TMC has done yesterday, after giving a simple declaration of you are against violence.

Two eyes for an eye and head for a tooth by Sayan on 10 Jan 2013

As you sow, so shall you reap. After 3 decades of tyranny and oppression it is great to see CPM being paid back in their own coin. Violence has to be fought back by violence. We want progress, development and annihilation of CPM from West Bengal.
