Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy has asked the Centre to ensure safety of Sinhalas people in Tamil Nadu.

New Delhi Janata Party President Subramanian Swamy today demanded that the Centre issue a direction to Tamil Nadu government to "stop interfering" in the country's policy on Sri Lanka and also ensure the safety of Sinhala people in the state.

In a statement here, he said President's rule should be imposed in the state if the Tamil Nadu government fails to follow the directions.

"I demand that the Union government send Tamil Nadu government a direction under Article 256 of the Constitution to stop interfering in India's foreign policy on Sri Lanka and also ensure safety of Sinhalas in the state," he said.

"If the chief minister fails to follow the direction then President's rule should be imposed in the state," Swamy said.

The Janata Party president also demanded that the Madhya Pradesh Government arrest MDMK chief Vaiko if he protests against Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa's visit to the state later this month.

Although I disagree on most of his statement, this time Dr. Subramaniam Swamy spoke sensibly or is it that honeymoon period with JJ is over and is on war path with JJ. In any case his statement should be welcomed by all. Govt should not go to the level of stopping sports or inter visits by respective citizens. Everyone know wheather AIDMK or DMK their rhetroic against SL govt is only for local political purpose. Hightime all tamil nadu parties restrain from provocative actions and deal this issue through Centre. Prasad/Bangalore

Dr.Swamy's direction by casbbalchandhar on 06 Sep 2012

OK Swamy is correct in his opinion that TN shouldn't interfere in national policy, please remember TN is in India not out of India. In the same vein he could have asked Delhi to interfere in the merciless killings of TN fishermen at that time where he was????????

Senseless statement by Manoj on 06 Sep 2012

How could a central govt afford to ignore the killings of more than 500 of their fishermen killed by Sri Lankan Navy and spreading the red carpet for Mahinda ? India's foreign policy is at its worst, few morons don't understand it, they said India will be safe if they wipe out LTTE. Now India is at risk since Chinese troops making their presence in Northern Lanka. Not able to understand why people don't want to think about it.

Dr. Swamy is right by J.V. on 06 Sep 2012

Dr. Subramaniam Swamy is perfectly right in asking the Goverment of Tamil Nadu not to interfere in India's policy on Sri Lanka. If it fails to listen, President's rule should be imposed on Tamil Nadu, as rightly suggested by Dr. Swamy.
