Teacher commits suicide after not receiving salary

Yavatmal A teacher working under the Yavatmal Panchayat Samiti committed suicide on Saturday after being frustrated over non-payment of his salary for the last six months, sources said.

Suresh Thote(46), working as Headmaster of the ZP primary school in village Yavati was not paid his monthly salary since April last crippling his financial condition.

On October 5, he left home under the pretext of going to his school but did not return. Later, it was revealed that he passed away after consuming poison.

His wife Rupali has alleged that her husband took the extreme step due to the penury and demanded action against those responsible for not releasing the salary.
