Speaking to mediapersons at the end of the nine-hour meeting, Hazare said: “There is nothing wrong with fielding a political party but I will not be a part of it. It has my blessings and we will work towards the common goal of eradicating corruption. If they feel they can get a majority, it is a good thing, but they cannot use my photo or my name... The paths have been separated.”
Late in the night, Hazare met yoga guru Ramdev. However, no details were available on their meeting.
Hazare also rejected the “referendum” carried out by India Against Corruption (IAC) which reported huge support in favour of a political party. “I will tour the country and awaken the people... It is our misfortune that despite our best efforts the team is breaking up. I do not agree with the way the referendum was conducted, if the verdict was so clear, why call this meeting at all?” he said.
Hazare was flanked by Kejriwal, who refused to answer questions, and Kiran Bedi. According to IAC sources, of the 45 people who attended today’s meeting, only eight members opposed a political option, including Hazare, Bedi and Justice Santosh Hegde.
Earlier, Kejriwal had said that they would not launch a party without Hazare’s support. However, he declined to answer questions on this issue today.
Avoiding any reference to the meeting, Kejriwal later tweeted: “Country is on sale. It is passing through very difficult phase. I will do everything possible for me to save my country.”
Seeming to voice Team Kejriwal’s stand, Giriraj Kishore, former registrar of IIT-Kanpur, said: “There are allegations that we exploited Anna. The fact of the matter is that people who are accused of that have also made Anna Anna.”
Bedi tweeted: “Feel Anna was being expected to support political option when he was never inclined. Was it a case of misjudgement on the part of some?”
The split sounds the death of a noble cause. Anna . I am sure, will extend his support to all honest and sincere people who will contest Lok Sabha polls whether they belonged to Kejriwal's party or any other political outfit. Without his support tacit or open, Kejriwal will not succeed to the extent necessary for countering the corrupt in the Parliament and the government.
it is not a good sign for those who dislike the corruption,anna should support arvind.
Anna knows that Mahatma Gandhi could not have succeeded, If subhash Bose and Bhagat Singh could not have played their bit of Roles. Now with the same Goal Arvind Kejariwal is going to be Subhash Bose - II and Ramdev Baba as Bhagat Singh - II.
Anna ji, tomorrow if you again start agitation and I come and join it. I, the unknown, will be allowed to carry your photo etc. Then what can be the reason for prohibiting your own trusted Kejriwal from using your name and photograph? Kindly do not allow the design of the corrupt politicians to weaken any fighter who wants to take on them in his own way, except violence. Tomorrow, when You shall support candidates whom you will find to be worthy of your support, will you choose not to support Kejriwal ji and his candidates? Anna ji, strength lies in UNITY and kindly do not discount UNITY on any account. This is to appeal YOU humbly to rethink on this issue and bless Kejriwal and likes, whoever wants to take on corruption non violently. Wishing every soldier victory against the battle of corruption.
Shri Anna is right for not permitting the group to use his name or photograph for political use. He and his group should not indulge in forming a political party and contest election. They should continue their movement against corruption and awaken the masses to avoid voting for the corrupt people. It would be a death sentence if they form a party and contest election. Hope mr. Kejriwal understand this.
Anna's simplicity and sincerity gave the anti-cooruption movement a face and also fuel. Without Anna's active support, the political innigs of IAC is bound to get stymied.
Iam not accepting that any party in power is responsible for division in Anna's team. In bourgeous democracy the leaders in the movements become a victim to exploit the mass coverage especially sympathy wave in computarised literary class for selfish purpose.But the effect of their movement in educated monkeys as well as downtrodden is limited to low percentage as these classes are divided in the name of caste, creed and religion.So iam sorry to state that the moverment became a failure.
Congress has finally successfully divided the Anti Corruption force initiated by Anna Hazare by separating Arvind Kejriwal from him. Cudos to Congress and long live Congress for the subverting India into corruption full land.
From the body language of Anna at jantar mantar it was clear that he was deeply perturbed by diebatic patient like Arvind taking up fast for an elongated period of ten days. The myth of professional in the field was shattered.The brain behind the movement has always been Kejriwal since the intellectual level of Anna is very poor. once kejriwal had decided on the next course of politics anna knew he would be totally sidelined in the coming month.The same is the case with Kiran who still visualises herself as a DG of police be it TV serials or the public meetings. Mr hegdes role in the movement since its inception had always been suspect since he repeatedly acted as a sabotaging agent.The jumping of Gen VK Singh in the fray with both Ramdev and Anna and his visit to Raleigh Gaon further clouded the limited intellect of Anna. An Army Naik would always be mesmerised by the presence of Army Chief as one of his followers. Knowing VK singh being his NDA coursemate, he has always had his personal agenda to further his owm aim.Anna cannot progress further since his speeches are always the repetation of the same points like his brave act of hiding when his convoy was under enemy fire, his act which led to resignation of a few ministers in Maharastra,hid poweress of undertaking fast, etc. He has nothing new to add hence his ability to attract attention is very limited.Kejriwal is extremely intelligent and sharp in his reaction. He is an exremely good organiser and has the ability to immediately understan problems in their correct perspective and come out with very pragmatic decisions. e is very honest and sincere in his approach. this is the reason the ongress is shit scared of only this single individual in addition to Narinder Modi. I think the parting of ways augers well for the Kejrewal movement and we should wish him and his team Godspeed and success in the future.
Respected Anna Hajare Saheb, Sadar Namaskar No Anna-Ram! Do not involve in politics. In near future you both will also not get majority in a state or Central. Drop the idea to form a political party. All evil elements will join your party and the result will be like Samajvadi party or Bahujan Party. UP has tasted their rule. People of Bihar have also tasted the Lalu%u2019s party. We are judging the Congress and BJP also. Communists have lost their labour capital. TMC leader has no ground to stand. Mamata banerjee is not dependable. In south there are only regional parties. Remember that No one has seen any reformist, social worker or political thinker who might have had formed any political party. The day you will form political party all good persons will start maintaining distance from you. Your aim is reforms and to have a lokpal for general public to curb corruption. Ramdev has an aim to bring back black money. But you both have neither political ideology nor any political philosophy to attract people. Formation of a political party by you will be anti climax. Even to day when you have not formed political party members from your team are fighting in between. It is not only the politics through which any goal can be achieved. Do not be laid away by the environment being made by Congress lest you will be kept on back burners and your purpose of formation of Lokpal Act and bringing back black will be defeated. Abstain from such temptation. There are so many activities in society where reforms are necessary and for that social changes are required and you both should have Pada Yatra so that from east to west and from south to north you may make the people alert and aware about their rights and duties. Be like Mahatma Gandhi who did not hold any post but was a key leader among others in the fight for liberation of India. It is said that about 76 percent people are of the opinion that Anna should form political party. This figure is not even 00.00000001 percent of the national population.
