Bal Thackeray

Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray attacked th” “dynast”c” politics of Congress on Friday and said it was taking the country to the dumps.

“Rahul Gandhi harbours ambition of becoming the Prime Minister. Sonia has become everything and is proceeding in an autocratic manner,” he said in the first of a four-part interview published in party mouthpiece Saamna.

Thackeray’s son Uddhav and grandson Aditya hold important posts in Sena, but he said there was no dynasty in the party.

Thackeray said he did not bring Uddhav or Aditya (who heads the newly formed Yuva Sena) in politics like Rahul Gandhi was brought. He said he did not nominate them to the positions in the party. “

“Rahul Gandhi is set to be the Prime Minister it seems. Is the PM’s post like some chair in Bhendi Bazaar?” he said referring to a market in Mumbai

Thackeray said Priyanka Gandhi-Vadra was also coming up in politics “like another Indira Gandhi”.

He said there was no leadership left in Maharashtra. “Why only Maharashtra, there is no leadership in the country.”

About the Azad Maidan violence in Mumbai during a protest against incidents in Myanmar and Assam, Thackeray said he felt ashame”. “How did they dare to do this? During our rule, there were no riots.”

He said Assam was full of insurgents. “Indira Gandhi showed courage and liberated Bangladesh from Pakistan. Assam is our own. What is the military doing? Shoot the miscreants.”

Referring to Afzal Guru and Kasab, he said it was 11 years since the Supreme Court sentenced Guru to death. “Why can’t they be hanged? Or have we run out of ropes due to farmers suicides?”

Act against Raj: State Cong chief

Mumbai: Facing the charge of colluding with MNS, Congress in Maharashtra asked the state government on Friday to act against Raj Thackeray for “taking out a morcha illegally and inciting masses through inflammatory speeches”.

In a letter to Home Minister R R Patil, a copy of which was sent to CM Prithviraj Chavan, MPCC chief Manikrao Thakre said the government should take action against Raj and his partymen for violation of norms. He pointed out that Raj had organised a morcha after the August 11 violence in contravention of rules and also made inflammatory speeches aimed at creating a divide among people.

The government should act against such elements, Thakre said in the letter.

In a separate statement, MPCC spokesperson Sanjay Dutt expressed suspicion over the way the MNS chief announced he was withdrawing opposition to the ‘Sur Kshetra’ TV reality show featuring Pakistani artistes.

“There is a formula behind the way Raj Thackeray behaves. Even the common man is now realising this. It starts with Raj expressing extremist views, after which, MNS workers indulge in violence and later Raj holds a closed-door meeting and declares that he has had a change of heart,” Dutt said.

Bal T's stupid statements by Subbu on 13 Sep 2012

What a senseless statement from an old man whose one leg is already in the grave. How is that his stupid son, immature grand-son, brother's son and so many of of his close relatives and friends handling Sena's crooked affairs. What commonsense that brat Aditya has got ? - except for threatening school principals, what is his performance so far. Merely because Modi getting closer to Raj, old man is trying to pop that corrupt women Sushma for PM's post. Does he not know that SS will die a natural death after him and Uddav will be all alone his entire life ?

Absolute hypocrisy by Krishnan on 08 Sep 2012

What a hyprocisy. He promoted his son, nephew, daughter-in-law, grandson and now is talking against dynastic politics.Infact most of the politicians who blamed dynastic Gandhi family rule, have themselves promoted their own family in politics or favoured them in their business through the political powers. Why could his grandson not be a ordinary party worker and do some social work rather than directly being the head of one of the party wings. Why does Raj Thackrey's children study in convent schools and not a Marathi medium school? When the ShivSena BJP alliance were brought in power, why were they not able to initiate steps against the immigrants? Why do they talk and try to roar only when then are in opposition.Fully agree with Sanjay Dutt, the SS and the MNS have this specific pattern. Similar threat was carried out by SS when Michael jackson first planned his performance, later SS welcomed him at the sirport.
